hey..
just wondering what is the furthest south on the oregon coast anyone has found azures?..much of it has dune grasses and climate similar to Astoria..Ft.Stevens seems to be gettin a bit popular these daze..I'm thinking sort of in particular about that HUGE, VAST, WIDE dune grass covered area down by "Sea lion caves" (which is a trip in itself)..i'll be down there this week, and i was just wondering if anyone's had any luck there..peace..

Based on some other posts I have read it seems there can be an unpleasant inability to move muscles and inability to walk for some people. I think it was the post I cannot F*ing walk. Did this happen to you?

In response to odd muscular effects....
I have had an experience with muscular stress that was unpleasant on three different occasions with Cubensis. Mine was different though...I had intense, accurate visual control, and heightened senses.....even felt like I had a Spidey Sense Anyway, I noticed that toward the end of the trip, if I did anything strange to over exert my calve muscles (walking long distances while on trip, or basketball, or just resting them and letting them cramp up) they would start to hurt, similar to a mild charliehorse....consequently, the morning after they're unbearably painful, waking walking difficult.....it's like they're permanently tensed up feeling, but the muscles are resting, not tense. I've looked into this a little bit, and it seems that alkaloids may be behind the strange muscular tensing/lack of control and muscle drunken syndrome. Just a thought...

re: muscular effects
My friend ate several fresh Azures last week and had a similar experience with loss of muscular control. FYI, he is an experienced psychonaut. Anyway, as Doobie says, towards the end of the trip, nearly sober, he began having trouble with his jaw and facial muscles. So much so that he had trouble speaking! It was as if he couldn't control his lips, and spoke with a lisp...also, he had extreme difficulty chewing. He was trying to eat a snickers bar about 5 hours after consuming. He described it as if he were trying to chew leather; at times he had to stop completely because he simply could not bite through the thing. Very weird, and more than a little freaky.
The effect lasted nearly an hour. There would seem to be something active within the shroom that has an unwanted effect. He didn't like the effect, but probably won't stop eating the Azures...they're just too nice in many other ways. jjbb

I experienced muscle twitching; like above my eye and in my arms. But I have noticed that it is directly corrolated to the amount that i injest. I like to not over due it so i rarely have a problem. I generally only eat like 1-2 gms (bone dry weight). I know many people like to eat like an eighth. But these are not cubes and there is that elemnt of baeocystin (i butchered that word:) in azurs unlike in any other. Is it not just speculation as to the effects of baeocystin have there been studies? Perhaps there is a corrolation there? hmmm.......

Muscle tension / spasm / trembling / tremors
Psilocybin leaches calcium from the users system. Calcium is not only important for the building of strong bones and teeth, but is also ESSENTIAL for muscle functioning. Too little calcium in a users system is a guarentee for muscle discomfort.
I have addressed this problem before when somebody posted experiencing post mushroom trip headache. Set and setting for a psychedelic experience is important. Equally important is the proper maintenance of the human body.
If you are experiencing muscle discomfort as described in this thread, take a look at the following threads: headache or extreme headache
Equally important is being properly hydrated ~ drink plenty of good quality water prior to ingesting the magical fungi. I too used to experience moderate to severe muscle tension/twitching during heavy experiences. Sometimes I felt as if I were suffering from a seizure. Once my body was properly hydrated and had a sufficient calcium supply, the latter symptoms disappeared.
Hope this was some help. Physical pain or discomfort does not go well with any psychedelic experience.
Peace to Everyone,
Peaceful Nomad
