hey man its me again. i was wondering, i see little spots of myc. starting to sprout and colon. the wbs jars. what is the usual real wait time for the full colonization? anyone? i know heat, air, contam, all play a roll but if everything was done right (Hypothetic)lol,,, whats the normal wait time???
2-3 weeks if you used a spore syringe, or 1-2 weeks if you used Liquid culture, to inoculate your wbs jars. IME.

I've had full colonization with a very fast LC strains that only took about 5 days. Courtesy of Ralphsters, his BHT and Texas are extremely great LC's to use and they tear the grain apart.
This was done with a 4cc injection.. Not just down the sides of the jar... I've found that immediate shaking of the jar to disperse the LC throughout will speed things up dramatically.
Within 2 days the mycelium was dominating and full colonization was hit at about 5 days total. This was also done at room temperature, as well... I love LC's
How you been 13shrooms? How's your project coming along? Keep in touch man!

Some of the more prominent members here would advise against LC's. Simply because you can't always tell if it's a contaminant or not. I personally love LC's, however, just be aware that contaminants can appear as mycelium in an LC too and the difference is sometimes impossible to tell.

I agree they can easily get ruined if you're not careful... I've only had one contamination problem in my career so far.. I had an LC clone backfire on me one time but it was due to open air exposure... Then I built a glove box... Problem solved

is this necessarily the best technique? the convntional method with fertilizer layers have a system in place for catching spores and regrowing the mushrooms

I'm new to the site and love it! My firs question is how to submit a message to the community? My second question is "why my quart jars aren't showing signs of colonization?" I appreciate any help

I'm new to the site and could use a lil' help. I can't find out how to send a message to the community for the life of me. Once i can submit a message then my question can be answered from there. Thanks for the help.

Hi all, fist time grower trying not to kill myself!
Got some Psilocybe cubensis Puerto Rican Liquid Culture Syringes in Jan 09. Took about 5 weeks to colonize in vermiculite and BRF.
I then dunked and rolled and placed them in a clear tub with holes all over. (recently introduced a cool mist humdifier)hope that helps them pine.
Out of 6 cakes 1 fruited with 3 mushroms on it, took 4eva.
Reason im worried is that they do not bruise blue or any colour??? Is this Psilocybe cubensis Puerto Rican?
Please have a look at these pics & help.

Thanks Beng
