does antone know if these cultures are productive or not?... the ascc offers two types. one of which they say is a multispore inoculation that you would at least have more gentetic variability with... they want 150 though

Try the Penn State lab, they may have more.
Also, its likely that if you call they will share more info with you.
I have the same culture matty does, I'll be running some trials with it, as well as Ag. subrufescens.

I found another vendor that carries Agaricus subrufescens spawn and (expensive) cultures. They took two months to get the order going, but it was already getting too cold to put my bed in by this time. I rescheduled the order for March 1st.
For that reason, I will not name the vendor.
This is another of my candidates for companion planting, so I got four pounds of spawn. I've never attempted a secondary decomposer, so I'm looking forward to this!
So... an almond flavored mushroom. What do you do with that? Recipe suggestions, anyone?

I have heard this is a poor tasting mushroom, and hard to grow. I guess it has great medicinal properties though. I have considered growing it but it is very hard to find a good culture that won't break the bank.
I have lot's to trade if anyone has a productive strain and its interested.
