 Making Cannabis grow faster!!

Just hit the bowl, and i remembered some stuff from a few years ago in school. I remember in chemistry reading something about plants growing faster with non-constant light (lights on for a few seconds then off for a few). Something to do with chlorophyll and the light and dark cycles plants go through for growth. Does anyone have any knowledge about this?
Btw if i sound dumb i smoked a bowl of hash(i have a low tolerance atm). Im fuckin blown

LOL. Nicely done... I have never heard of this. However, I would keep the lighting cycle as close to natural as possible. Just a personal preference I guess. I like things au naturale.

you'll do better with an 18-20 hour cycle for veg, dropping back to an 8 hour for flowering

I agree, the proper balance of nutes, the right proportions of
fresh air and CO2, there's a lot of factors but strobing them
isnt going to make them grow faster

Aww im disappointed. But i clearly remember reading that plants grow faster with strobeing light, something to do with the light and dark cycles and the choloplasts. It does sound alittle weird i know, but i still cant shake it off. Im almost certain. Ill have to do more research, but i think im going to try it sometime soon with an LED box set up. Fuck it even if it doesn't grow any better, ill still get some homegrown bud

Okay, maybe I made that up.
Lol i just want to see if maybe i found alittle something to help growers. None the less ill try it first, so that no one fucks up their grow if it doesn't work. Ill grow two plants both in different LED box set ups, with one strobing at 10secs on and 5 off for 18 hours and the other 12 hours of light a day.

I only said LED's cus they are energy efficient and with the strobing, are CF good with energy? What about price?

From my research LED lights are fine for vegging. Am I wrong here? I posted about LED lights in the Ethnobotanical forum.
I get my LED panels this week and I'm going to germinate and start a grow. I plan on vegging with the LEDs and using an HPS for flowering, supplemented by the LEDs for side lighting.

CF are super cheap compared to LEDs. They very efficent, though not as much as LED. They provide the right spectrum of light while LEDs don't; they tend to be too blue. They also run at a lower temp than LEDs. Most LED light fixtures need some kind of heat sink.
Another option you may want to look in that is very efficent and very bright are T5 or High Output T5 fixtures. I've worked in the aquarium industry for almost 10 years and they are by far the best bulbs in terms of efficiency/brightness/cost/heat production. Not sure that they have bulbs in the right spectrum for growing pot though. They might.

Ok so ill use a CF setup. Im going to find some good seeds, probably an indica strain. Ill grow 3 plants. All with the same fertilizer and nutrients
Plant 1: Control
Normal light, nutrients, etc.
Plant 2: 14 Hour Strobe
Plant 3: 24 Hour Strobe
Ill grow all for the same amount of time, and ill weigh each plants harvest.

for a decent setup with CFs, it'll run you as much as an HID
light, consider with LEDs to get the kind of output you would
with one 600w HID you'd need about 10 of the strips at about
$60 each (the cheap ones), you can get a premium 600w for a
couple hundred, while energy efficiency may seem like a big
deal to difference is very noticeable in the finished
product, for that same cash as the LEDs you could have the
light and a fan for scavenging heat
honestly you'll run about the same money per actual lumen
regardless of the efficiency, a 600w light uses just a little
more than a computer, the same as in may cases

... Yeah. LED's are pointless. I have heard ONLY negative comments about them in regards to growing illegal plants. HID's or flouros (or the like), will work just fine.

led's provide a narrow spectrum of light. the light emitted by led is on the cooler side of the spectrum. this may work for cutting of seedlings, but once the plants are ready for vegative growth, those lights wont cut it. if electrical cost is an issue I would stick to cfl's preferably t5 size cfl. they provide the most lumen per watt and the broadest spectrum of light. they also make bulbs now that replicate the spectrum that comes from hps lights. (warmer spectrum) this is necessary for substantial flowering growth.I use t5's on my cuttings and have the light inches away from my babies.dont waste your time with led's. my best advice is you get what you put into it when growing dank. the better your lights, nutes, enviroment, co2 enrichment, ac,the better the product.most important a consistant photoperiod is key. I blast mine for 24 a day for a week of two then 12 on 12 off till done period. 18 on and 6 off for my genetics work
