‘Winning drugs war [WALES]

AMMAN Valley Police say they are winning their fight against drugs.

This follows a series of stop-searches and the execution of search warrants throughout the sector over the past year.

And this major offensive has seen recorded offences – ranging from possession of cannabis to unlawful possession of prescribed drugs such as methadone – up on last year.

But Sgt Charles Gabe (pictured) told the Guardian the increase in drug seizures did not indicate a rise in drugs mis-use in the Amman Valley.

“Rather, this is down to pro-active policing and an increase in intelligence fed in from the community,” he said.

“Innovations such as the itemiser machine, which has been used in the Amman section on two occasions, also assists police both in detecting offences and maintaining intelligence on drugs mis-use and trends.”

He added that the drugs haul included quantities of heroin, cocaine, Ecstasy and amphetamines.

“Of the offences recorded the majority are for cannabis possession, and most of these are for herbal cannabis, with a fall in the number of resin seizures.”

Sgt Gabe said warrants had been executed across the section from Cefnbrynbrain to Ammanford itself.

And he warned that any housing agency tenants caught with drugs on the premises ran the risk of losing their home.

“Being convicted of a drugs offence can have a devastating effect on a person’s life, not only as regards job applications and career changes, but can also prevent travel to certain countries,” he said.

He says that as though its a good thing. Does this fucker really think its good that somebody convicted of a victimless crime can no longer contribute to society? Its not like crack heads, who are worthless, there are tons of smart, educated, productive people that smoke marijuana. Good job cops, way to be the solution

LEAP will tell you, as former and even current law enforcement officers that catching drug dealers does nothing.
