fingers crossed eh... i don't like to count my chickens before the eggs have hatched
i'm trying a different approach this year, for the last couple of seasons i've been out at least twice a week from mid september onwards... i'm attempting to be a little more calculated this year and only hit my spots during their peak...

The weather has been spot on.. Really humid and wet, whilst quite cold at night.
I'm can't wait for the weekend.. Just gotta drop a couple of hundred quid on a bike at some point this week and then I can cycle up to the peaks at the crack of dawn (so I get maximum hunting time ).
Can't wait to see what its like up there aesthetically as well .

walking down my girlfriends street today i could see their has been another flush coming up as the gardens have loads of them in it,some older ones that where their last week and lots of new younger ones. so i went to 3 of my local patches and never seen a single shroom. got the bus back to my girlfriends and on the way in to her estate theirs a little patch of grass about 16 by 16 feet square and their was a little patch of 61 shrooms on it,i thought f**k the neighbors i cant keep walking by these patches every day on the way home from fruitless excursions and not pick them. all the gardens are about the same size and have about the same amount in them as this little patch of grass and theirs no fences,I'm thinking about going round about 2am and just clearing out the lot,to hell with it. my girl would go nuts if she found out but shes in Spain so what she doesn't know wont hurt.man their must be a few thousand in the one street combined.

3rd update..
God damn old hippie chick raided my patch,,, . I saw someone walking on a path up the hill towards me, so i thought i'd fuck around with my camera for a bit and let her pass, like i do. She looked like any other walker at this point. She gets to the top of the hill, bends down right in front of me,, plucks a couple of shrooms, pulls out this plastic bag and throws them in with the collection. Then she looked up, said "hiya" cheerfully and walked off,, lol...
Half of my route/patch was raped clean,, it didn't bother me as much as i thought it would actually. The day was looking to be a good one, all the patches i got to first/she didn't find were fruiting quite well. Bigger shrooms too !. So things could have worked out a lot worse than they did. I knew i should have got up when my alarm went off instead of laying in bed for an extra hour.
Anyway,, pics..

Found this little guy as well,, don't know what type he is. Would have thought it was a bit late for chicks. Things were not looking good for him,,, .

Awesome HQ pics mikey! i really need to get me a better camera.
went out picking again today... guess what? no luck. the grass has gone brown in little areas of my patch, if it doesn't fruit i'll be gutted. I've identified a few possible (greener) fields close by, but no joy there either.
i wish they would hurry up and flush

Okay, got the heads up of a new 'localish' spot about a 25 min drive in land.
The Habitat is of an old boarded up hospital. Its quite local to some farm areas, but when we went to check the proper pastures the farmer was watching us! nee good!
anyways, this field looks as though it may have had some animals on it at some point, but if so it must have been awhile ago!

They seemed to only appear in a certain spot of the field, I'm guessing this may be due to the season only kicking off around here (near the coast of Northumberland, as there hasn't really anything fungi related to be found in my local area.
Here is the first small patch we found of about 5

Our haul after about half an hour to an hour later

We managed to pick about 47 if my memory is correct.
They were enjoyed last night between me and two other friends. Quite a strong good trip for only having 16ish mushrooms each!
Here's a few more random ones.

Around here, due to the lack of fungi around my usual area, and the small numbers for a few hours picking between 2 of us, I've lead to believe it is still abit too early for em. Even though it was a bitch sifting through the long grass!
Could living right on the coast be the reason why nothign seems to grow here? I've checked every type of pasture around here with no luck!
Anyways I'll going to go back to said spot in a week or so, the weather isn't too great here at the moment, been raining abit the past few days so i' hoping for more rain as the tempuratures cool down. :-)
PS. sorry about the crap quaity photo's, they're off my phone. :-(
WISH ME LUCK!
