Shroomery Originals 1

I always thought it would be cool if the shroomery sponsored a compilation of the best music created by members. Possibly even have a contest and eventually have it on sale in the shroomery store. I'm not actually a musician but it still would be an awesome idea.
------------------------------------------------
It's official, this thread is now the "Shroomery Originals" thread. It took some time to actually get things off the ground, sort of, but here it is.
I was thinking about making rules for the thread but I'm not sure. I'll just post some thoughts and follow them as you feel necessary:
- Only upload finished songs (not finishing things is not what the shroomery is about
)
- Only post if you have something to upload. (disregard the first page or so)
- If you must criticize PM the artist rather than post.

I actually put a lot of time into organizing one back in 2003 but it didn't fly, most of the people who made good music were all worried about copyrights and shit.
It would be rad to see someone pull it off.

Yeah, I have like 6 or 7 songs off the shroomery. I could put them together and upload them as a zip, but I'm thinking more of like CD created by the people for the people. True democracy.

I'm only concerned with making any significant money off my music for live play. Otherwise, I want as many people to D/L my music as possible.
It'd be cool to make a couple 100 or so off of CD's, sold for 5-7 bucks, however The Live Show is where the real magic happens IMO.
Let's pull it off, guys.

Rather than making CD's it makes more sense to me to just have an official stickied thread in this forum that contains any shroomerite's best work that they are willing to share here for free to download.

We should talk to the moderators about rules and shit for the official thread, so that only finished works can be uploaded. and get this thing started. It would be awesome to hear what the members make.

I think the sticky thread would be a good starting point. I don't know if this should be the thread or if we should come up with rules and start a new thread. If the shroomery decides to make a CD then we could have a vote on what songs go on it. Also to make buying the CD more enticing than just DLing the songs from the thread, original artwork could be included, but that's if the CD gets made. I'm sure there's already a thread like that in existence just it was probably never stickied.

What we need to do is this, methinks: We all chip in money as soon as all final Mp3's are available to have them burned and put it some crakey sleeve. Or, burn on order.
Are we concerned with a pretty musical container ?

If we're gonna do it why not make it a real community collaborative. There are SO many artists on here we could go all out have a professional looking booklet put together for cheap featuring the art of some members. I nominate Drewwyann hahaha .......

how about high quality mp3's (or even better: flac) that can be downloaded in zip format including a front cover? Anyone can burn the cd themselves if they want, or just listen to it at their computer.

Why we don't find someone who has recording and editing software and have the final music sent to him/her to prevent a leak of the music. That way it will be more of a deal for the cd. If the music gets posted people will just download it and will not purchace the final product. I have all of the software for editing but I am sure there are memberrs with more experience than I for this project.

Since the shroomery is such a diverse musical culture, I think it would be best suited for a multi-CD set. I'd love to see like.. an electronic album, for instance. And then an all acoustic album, for instance.
The hard part would be figuring out how to sub-divide, as I'm sure a lot of peoples' work strides these boundaries.
Maybe just a remarkably well-laid track list on a single album would solve the issue by properly blending from style to style or something.
It would have to be assembled while tripping balls, or shortly therafter.

all good ideas here
but does it has to be commercial? Personally I would like to see that a lot of people download and listen to such compilation(s) then only few people buying it.

Well, It could be a thread that could eventually turn into revenue for the forum. Compile the best of and add something to make it worthwhile to buy the CD rather than just DL stuff. The thread could be an on going thing with limitless amounts of songs available for free DL but the CD would be cool to have as well. Honestly, I don't know why it would be cool, it just seems like a good idea.
Something that might make it worthwhile to buy the CD is artwork or a supporter account for a while. Maybe more people would become supporters that way, buy a CD and receive a next to your SN.

If you guys can listen to Nuclear Winter, Emergence, Water and any of the others to decide which song would be best for a shroomery comp.
If you don't want to listen to that many songs then listen to however many you can in this order: Nuclear Winter, Emergence, Water.
Thanks.

I like it, it reminds me of a nice relaxing summer morning or somethin'
It could be a little louder though, little compression, a few eq tweaks, about 28seconds in there's a spike in volume/eq or something.

awesome sound. I really like it! Friendly criticism: The vocals are not very exciting. the lyrics are cool, but it sounds like the guy from phish. (like not much effort is being put forth. you need to scream! ) in some instances i think its ok to sing quietly, but, i think it would be waayyy cooler for this song if you were yelling. keep posting songs, that was dope!
thanks bro! I agree, vocals need much work. It sucks trying to sing when you're in an apartment filled with other people. It's been nice listening to everyones stuff here!!!

I am not using turntables. Mine are unfortunately in a differnet city until I go get them.
Those were some well placed sampled

I like it, i think it'd sound cool with a little more grit and low end
more grit you think? like more raw sound, or distortion?

I don't think there's anything yet, still need somebody to do all the mastering, and final production, along with a group of people to decide what stays and what goes.
Here's a bit of slide guitar improv.

Lyrics:
In a place with so much gone I cant help but to carry on Been abandoned in my ways But at least I know you'll always be the same
So many faces i must say in a time i cant raise the grade so many people i know standing alone in the rain
cause its time open the door follow me (2X) yeah
in a way i must be wrong introduced by things i havent known sitting down beside my grave see this time... i cant wait
cause its time.....
seasons come and seasons change i left my life along the way time goes by seems so strange better times i wont forget
you'll always be the same
cause its time....

Im a guitarist, drummer, bass player. I play weird jazz stuff mostly.
I just found this group of funky folks and we record alot of crap and alot of what we have done was not recorded(sadly, because thats the really good stuff go figure).
Its a short term thing I think. I dont really know. We have a really nice set up though.
Im on the keys/vibes, and the drummer is the shit. Sound effects guy on guitar rules. He is very weird on guitar and I love it.
The other two people in the band I dont know what to think of just yet(bass guy, and the dictator and a wide range musician/music teacher).
Its alot of fun though.
Check out song number 3 on this myspace page.(zak's 7/8 jam machine) Thats the one I took part in and im on keys. Its been fun as hell thus far. Im a new sort of member in this thing. Its been pretty weird but I like it and so here is zaks song. Song #3 http://www.myspace.com/sheboygancollective
Check it out yalls.

thats jamming. So fucking uncontrived.
Second time we played the song. I had no idea what was going on beyond the improv I could provide.
They impressed me.
And ya, im the non keyboard player on keys and vibes.
Hopefully this will grow into something really cool. And then ill be able to play some guitar or bass.....yaya.

Here's a jam band I'm in with some other music-majors from school. It's fun. We always try and record all our jam sessions, then transcribe them. lol, it's hardwork, but fun shenanigans.

Yeah man, I know that feeling. We try and write a new song every session, alot of times, we all write stuff at home, and a bring a lick in, or a chord progression, or whatever in.
I think it helps keep the stagnant colors away.
Lol, I think it's funny how similar music develops at the same time, even though we are literally a thousand miles apart.

We made a pretty good studio version of the song. The old version is gone. I hope it was saved by the tek master himself.
Im on piano and "vibes". And then there are the other cool and weird musicians I play with.
They are great.
Studio style.......... The song, "breaking the curse".
Im pretty sure it will be song number one.

I think it could be a hell of alot better, but it still kicks it!

It was all thrown together like some kind of an asshole in one week (10 in the morning) and I didnt know how to play ANY of these songs. Lucky for me, im all about the improv anyways. There is some gold in there though......I think
One take type shit, studio style.
I should have been all fucked up and it should have been 10 at night when we recorded this, but what can you do?
Lots of fuck ups here and there, no editing for some reason aside from him tweaking all the shit he shouldnt have(this was basically live), and thats what happens when a bunch of musicians are thrown together at 10 in the morning and make a fucking silly goofball record.
Thats what this is, but I think its pretty sweet especially track 5.
The first time I played keys on track 5 it was DANK and fully live. I was also sort of drunk and high on the dank which helps me when I want to improvise my ass off..
That fucker better have kept that track.........
Anyways, I hope someone enjoys some of this goofy shit we created out of thin air.

uneditted. incomplete. and was recorded during a random whim of being high. still needs my friend's bongo drummin' and my other friend's acoustic bass, but they're in Costa Rica for a couple months so i guess i'm just gonna have to wait.
nonetheless, just a raw backbone to the true song to come.

Love the idea!
I am an audio engineer by trade; and am willing to participate in finalizing the project once we get a track lineup going.
In addition, here is some of my work: http://www.myspace.com/discreetatr
I have an album I'm working on that is devoted to the psychedelic experience and would love to put forth one or two tracks from it. Namely, "Phenom - The Wakeup" and "Eight-Six" from that page are my candidates.
Looking forward to working with you all.

Thats wonderful.
I Like the interaction between the bass and guitar, and your drummer is pretty tight at times.
Fuckin red hot chili peppers.
If you lived anywhere near me Id break into your houses at night and demand that you jam with me because it would be ultra dank.
Too bad I live in wisconsin.
Id lay some sick yet subtle and groovy lead guitar over that goodness. And some piano too.
Anyways.............
It was really nice.

I like to record my guitar and use synthesisers. So heres the deal: I always come up with these brilliant ideas for songs, but I'm not too organized and I never end up finishing them. Heres two that I really like (its really sad because I can't finish these on account that I didn't save the guitar tones used for them)

ya'll can have the rights to a couple tracks of mine if we negotiate royalties first. that is all. I have >119 available. all by me, 85% are completely legal (ie no samples from movies that aren't auth'd) so you could pick from about 80-95 tracks that I made 100%.

i posted it once and a mod said it was spam and my thread was deleted because i also sell a cd where those beats are available. go figure.
if you really want to find them, go here www.viralverse.com/mp3/ , and listen to some FREE mp3s.
maybe you can figure out where to look for my original music from there. if not, i'm sorry.

Well I basically just mean, do you want to send me 20 minutes worth of material and I'll dub some tapes w/ our stuff on it, and send you some?
I usually hand draw all the cover art/etc, cuz it's fun, but that also means I won't be making too many of them. A few copies will probably end up in a record store here in seattle though.
PM me!

Definitely. My buddy/the drummer is moving to portland in like a week but we can still figure something out, I'm sure. I sent him the track, btw, and he loved it. He wants to keep trying to jam via email, having me cut the tracks & writing songs, then sending him bass/guitar rhythm parts so he can put drums over it. He said you should be in on it too, haha. If you're down, I can always send you tracks to jam with. You're leagues past me in righteous guitar noodling. =]

here's another one.
I took the sample from a 20 minute long story on a cassette of ghost stories that I ripped to mp3. I played all the drums on a midi keyboard (just like all the other tracks)... the drums that come in at the same time the guitar does (:32) are samples from me working (hammers, stuff banging around, etc), sliced into midi samples.
overall it kinda sounds like a rob zombie out take, haha. Not sure what I'll add next. it'll probably just stay a sketch. let me know if you have any comments. :P

I was thinking that we should just have a thread with all the music and NO POSTS with a sort of voting system to each song on there. That would eliminate a lot of scrolling and searching etc. Maybe even a new forum containing songs by genre or member and start maybe a big ol' music group (not necessarily a band) I think if we do we would be making history for the biggest music collaboration ever! and maybe each member can finance themselves to make a CD...If they wanted to take the time out to do that. Or a few members can pinch in to make a collaboration CD with credit due to each member to each song on the booklet. We could all help out, it would be really cool! Like "so and so presents, a shroomery production" Fuck money and copyrights and all that bullshit! I'd buy the shit and support you guys because just about everyone on here is trustworthy and cool. I would just like to have one of those Cd's with me to remind me where my life's been the past few years, THE SHROOMERY! it would be great just to reflect and I would show it to all of my friends. It would be like a sort of collecters item. I know that many people will dig it! I MEAN ITS DRUGS AND MUSIC!!!I I think that's what most of us who are gonna collaborate are all about!
...Also I had this Idea about putting poetry and or ANTI-Anri-Drug propaganda and spreading awareness through our music in one way or the other. (or we could just use that on one of the Cd's but I think it's a good cause we can all relate to.

I can dig it. If you got the drums all sorted out, this track would be kinda reminiscent of some of the Peace Orchestra stuff. I'm a fan of simple melodies moving slowly off kilter to the rhythm, like you've done. I do think the track would benefit quite a bit from a steady tempo, though.

Here is a track you may enjoy. I've got a few chipmunks that hang out near my house and they've been a bit of an inspiration for this.
I've uploaded it as a youtube video just to save you the trouble of having to download anything.
I'll post another one right after this. I'm open to any feedback, hope you enjoy. Some cool stuff in here. This one is supposed to be "fun." edit* I'll wait to post the other one because it's not finished yet; but, if you're interested it's under that same youtube account as "Surf Sketch"
Also here is the mp3 if you want to save the song.

The first one (sunspot-9) is rad. Pretty funky. I'm not too familiar w/ deep house, but I especially dig the leads so far (10min in - btw the bass at the ten minute mark is pretty killer). I haven't listened to the korg mix yet.

dazzy dukes brahs. I started a dazzey duks thread in OTD earlier cuz these fuckers were cracking me up, but I just "finished" a remix of their hit single. so i'm gonna post it here. :P
my parents know I collect goofy old cassettes, so they picked this (and some other stuff) up for me at a thrift store and mailed it to me. I sure do like my folks.

for fans of breakcore (i use the term lightly here) and noisy electro stuff.
ps: any advice on producing this kind of shit would be really helpful!

the melody line /down beat stabs in your song are pretty dissonant .... those notes aren't really chords, i mean.... but if that's what you meant to do, more power to you.
the bass and drums sound nice when they come in. =] the second set of drums w/ the more prominent high hat, those are pretty loud.... and it's probably just the youtube file compression but the hats sound pretty lo-fi. dub doesn't seem like the kinda genre that wants to be lo fi, but maybe!
sucks about the 2nd half of the track, btw. :P upload it here next time?
ps: i clearly do not follow the advice i give others when i am writing tunes

I haven't been into my music as much this year as I was past years...but tracks are in the making.
I'm looking forward to sharing some new tracks. I'm getting the courage up to start adding vocals. Also, playing with open tunings and the slide.
I'm on year number 8 of playing musical instruments and I've hit my 3 or 4th major rut. Trying lots of experimenting lately.
I'm digging all the tracks posted so far. I love this thread

I just tried playing along on my acoustic to warm up for some electric and it doesn't match.

I used have my electric tuned down half a step alright.
Let me have another smoke,I might tune it down for a laugh.
I've no programs to put them on top of each other so I'd have to play yours on the stereo while I play.
Haha.
Edit:I'm slow,I couldn't do that.

Holyshit it's been a while since I've posted here. This is still a work-in-progress, planning on putting down 2, 3, maybe four guitar tracks and branch off of it. Just wanted some international shroomery feedback.

First real stab at something jazz like.
Sounds familiar though...it's possible I heard something like it before and am just copying someone.
I hope not.

Agreed, that three chord song is great! The delay is well placed and lends just enough atmosphere to the tune. The jazz tune is rad too - really swingin'
Auxilary, your tune is great as well. I really like it. It reminds me of a cut from Gang Gang Dance's first album (I believe the tune is called "glory in itself"). Keep on making music man, you've got a great ear for it IMO.

Cheers.
I didn't listen to your tune until now,Auxillary.
I have one suggestion though. Don't take my word for it but when the pan pipes come in the second time, maybe you could let them flow along with the music and maybe have the pitch go along with the bass or dance around the bass,if you get me?
Good stuff though.

Yeah I like that idea. I've been messing around with it patiently and I'm starting to lean towards a more flowing rythm with the flutes.

Learning some jazz. This is Miles Davis' All Blues. Rumor has it, Miles was a bit of a deadhead in the 80's. I think he might have played a few tunes with them in the 80's... I think he jumped on eyes of the world a couple times... could be wrong though... word of mouth.

I wasn't actually playing this is rhythm with anything,I was just practicing a two chord thing and I played it backwards.
Sounds kinds trippy.
I'll have to extend it.

I know this is sort of redundant, but here's a complete demo disc of mine. I'd be willing to Donate any of the tracks off of it to a Shroomery Compilation disc/torrent etc... http://www.mediafire.com/?4yomkgnzhyc
BTW, is anyone actually compiling material from this thread? I still think it's a great idea.

just dug this old track out of the archives (thanks to a friend of mine that held on to a mix CD I made him five years ago!). it's a remix of some MC's I met on soulseek back in the day. they sent me an the capella track and I added a beat. at the time i was going by 'jwax', so when the second mc says "trash new ear drums / don't combat the wax / it only acts as a filter / passing through facts", i felt extra cool. haha

Power ballad!
That guitar that comes in around ~1:10, holy fuck yes. Some of my earliest memories of being awesome and making out in high school have that exact tone ingrained into them.
The drums sound real nice too! What kinda gear did you guys get?

A brand new Yamaha DTX-V2 set, a digital monitor, new headphones, sort of minor stuff over that. But the DTX-V2 is the big deal.
Our new recording setup is completely virtual/digital, which is cool because our recording space isn't sound proofed.
here it is:
Tascam DP-02 (Digital 8-track) Berrhinger Eurorack 2004a (16 channel mixer) Yamaha DTX-V2 Digital Drum set Line-6 Spider 2 amp (pawn shop gear, FTW! ) 4 CAD mics, for vocal use (though we usually just plug them in to the mixer and use them for ambience and natural reverb.)
Plus new cables, and Audiotechnica Headphones!
I also built a new axe from spare parts I had, so now I have a little better tone control than before:

mmmmmm 2 vintage strat pick-ups, and Gibson '57 classic... LP neck profile, grover tuners, + the comfort of a strat style body...

your setup sounds pretty fucking righteous. nice job building yourself a franken guitar.
and i'm glad to be able to listen! you guys have a cool sound, i've said it before, but it reminds of john fahey/sir richard bishop rolled into one (have you heard 'freak of araby'?).
i just finished this track up a minute ago... for like a week i couldn't figure out what to do with this track, but tonight, through the power of pot, i finally wrote some stuff to fill it in, and a bassline. basslines are a lot easier to write when i'm stoned!

lukeboots,I know you like to record ambient sounds, well I have one for you if you're interested.
I totally forgot about it but hearing the birds chirping reminded me.
The combined sound of cars driving in the rain/on a wet road and you running along beside them.
Every step, the kind of hissing sound wavers and changes in pitch as you bob under and above it,if you get me?

thanks for the kind words dudes!
jim, that sounds like a pretty rad idea for some found sound. i'm still trying to figure out how to make my portable recorder totally shock-resistant though. right now if i run with it and don't keep a really firm grip, most of the recording turns out to be handling noise. it's even worse because of the wind (which could be remedied by holding the device behind me, but then i kinda lose the good grip).
i could probably take two recordings and lay them over each other though... i'm definitely intrigued by any weird tricks i can use to mess with my daily aural world
auxiliary - nice track dude. i think i'm starting to get a feel for your sound... yer style is kinda emerging and becoming tangible as you post more of these snippets.

Hey everybuddy, This is my first attempt at recording in quite a while. It's really rough and I know that I need to work on the leveling and all of that but I'm still learning the software so you'll have to bear with me. I am also having trouble exporting as an MP3 track and can currently only export it as a Wav. file so IDK if it will even upload. I call it "Gabriela's Song" Enjoy.

Hey, it doesn't seem like this is the most active thread around, but I figured I'd post and see if anyone gives a listen...
Just some instrumental stuff I've been working on over the last year. Pretty experimental, each track certainly has it's own thing going for it.

Thanks for listening...

yeah that song is short, but it is really unfinished. I have lots to do with the song still. When completed I am sure it will be much longer.

I started messing around with FL the other day. Before,I didn't even know how to go past the first bar.
I've done a search for it and didn't have any luck but do you know how to copy/clone patterns you've made in one bar and paste them into next bars? I can only do it manually and it's kind of a balls...

I made this after I had my last mushroom trip. The basic progression is what I started playing on the guitar when the last trip was fading. It was one of the best trips I ever had and really brought a sense of acceptance towards my evolutionary process. It was definately an "everything's alright" moment.

This is a song from my cousins band. He sent me the e.p. years ago and they didn't make it like they'd hoped.
I'm sure he wouldn't mind me posting this as it's an appreciation of their music.
I suggest downloading it because it's a proper recording with production, not farting around recording it onto a laptop.

Pretty soon I (we) should have a track with really shitty quality to put up here. To be honest I've kinda looked forward to the time we get a clean take with correct balance. One compression mic stuck in the middle of a bedroom for drums, a shitty guitar, and a shitty mic run through a shitty effects pedal can be pretty damn hard to get right. Let alone the fact we're not very talented
-------------------- Madtowntripper said:

He may in fact, be a literal bum, only able to make himself known to us here by occasionally stopping into dark internet cafes to make a few quick, frantic posts before the owners force him to leave because of the stench of rotting vegetables and desperation wafting forth from his pores.

Nice tune, Sunny!
Here's an electronic/chip/funk track...
(I could really use some advice/thoughts on this one - it takes about 40 seconds to get moving)
It's based on the feeling I'd be likely to get from riding one of these

Heres...well, part of a song. Its way too long to upload (a lot of them are) so I had to cut out the intro, then fade out toward the end so I could fit it in.

Yeah I know. For some reason my converter wasn't working for that song. Maybe I need to render a new one. But like said it really doesn't matter since it's on soundcloud.

I dig the bass line bro! And Polantis, that's a nice bit of ambient you got there.
Here's a recording of my buddy and I from a few days ago. We're trying to get our schedules straightened out so we can rehearse and write some new material(then shows!). As it is, this recording is the first time we've jammed together in about 4 months.

I'm just going to throw this up here for the heck of it:
I've discovered Fruity loops a few weeks ago and been keeping track of a few projects I made on soundcloud.
Sounds raw, incomplete and far from good but point being:
I LOVE IT, having so much fun even though it may not be that nice
http://soundcloud.com/kworzot-flitskind
Don't be too harsh, i'm just having a blast

I had some of the same trouble. Thanks for taking the time to do some mastering work though! It would probably help if I was using decent mics, instead of a few CAD boom mics I stole out of a drum mic kit.

You got some good ideas for beats and transitions. You should try doing some sampling and play around with using samples against your beats, as part of breaks or transitions.
Here's the result of a days worth demo recording. My drummer is MIA until monday, so I recorded his parts too... The result was pretty amusing.

Hey thanks man! LOL I'm not very good at the drum kit, so I basically just keep time when I play em! I was SOO fucking high when I recorded that , i didn't set a click track or anything, just hit record and kept doing overdubs until I had a 4 piece band playing!

hey guys, i've been hanging round the pub for a while but figured i'd check this place out
i love listening to & making music i make mostly music that i would call 'folky,' but have dabbled in other genres here and there.
that said, i'm going to post two songs. one, a lofi demo from my teenage years, the other, a two year old song that i made when i was high as shit but that i enjoy. i've got a lot of stuff to post, but i'll be keeping the uploads low and those are my favorites. i haven't recorded anything for a few years, been focusing on other priorities. i still play all the time & since discovering the freestyle thread have recent taken to writing spoken word shit.
http://soundcloud.com/rhapsode
if you're wondering what the birds are in the first song, i'd been up all night writing & at sunrise, i decided to record this song. i took my computer outside and recorded the entire song, through the webcam, in garageband haha.
hope you enjoy them!

Thanks man. My plans right now are just to keep making music as a hobby, but I'm looking into getting a degree in Digital Audio Engineering (mostly for my own benefit, but maybe I could get a job out of it too, who knows)
oh, and I bought some new gear (keyboard, drum machine/sampler) after finishing that album and that's been fun to mess with. When it's all figured out and I can whip around the new stuff with ease i'd like to play some shows.

Rich Whiskey / Doc Tronic - OABFP (click to download)
Hot new shit! Just finished this split EP w/ a buddy of mine from California a few days ago. My stuff (Rich Whiskey) has been described as "electrobilly." Doc Tronic is some sampledelic hip hop gone robotic, with sexy results. The whole thing only runs about 20 minutes, hope you dig it. I attached one of my tracks to the post so ya don't have to walk into the download totally blind.

Straight to the Lukeyboots folder. How many aliases do you have?
I hope that track's name is what I think it is.

Are you doing more with the Sharptooth name? Your full length has been in constant rotation along with Caribou's SWIM and others for several weeks and I have not tired of it.

I have a lot of aliases! The list is always growing.
That song title was indeed inspired by paradis, haha. As was the initial "When I woke up this mo'nin" in On The House (from an OTD thread he started w/ lyrics I could use). I was honestly trying to play the song I had arranged for his lyrics but it wasn't working out. One of the stipulations of writing Rich Whiskey tracks was that I had to be pretty bombed on Rich Whiskey... so you see what happened there.
Quote:

Yeah man I want to do more with the Sharptooth name, just gotta figure out what! That is a damn nice compliment, I'm glad you are enjoying that album. If you're interested in adding a little bit more to that lukeboots folder, I posted a recent collection of ideas/tracks here: http://dinosaurthoughts.blogspot.com; As for Rich Whiskey, I think that name is going to be releasing a song-for-song cover album of The Return of Roger Miller. I've been wanting to tackle that project for a while, and now I have a name and (sort of) a style to work with.
And thanks for the kind words, seriously! It's great to hear feedback of any sorts, but positive feedback really makes me want to keep writing.

Song I wrote and recorded with a close friend of mine.
good one, that song has some depth.

Great song. I like it a lot. I think if you had some parts where build was added with the use of bass guitar and switching from the behind drum set to realistic, it would add a lot of color to the song.

I really like your stuff. I could totally envision a longer, drawn out version of this that evolves through distortion, percussion and the like. great work.

Thanks allot, man. I'm going to try to get some vocals down before too long... I might add some distorted guitar in there and try to get the bass a little more crunchy sounding too.
Thanks again for the positive feedback.

This is the latest finished song I have...not to proud of it, but it's what I've got. Liked your song, Schiffler. Your voice kinda reminds me of Maynard's in some places.

I didn't explain that very well...
I was thinking about 'VOICES' and 'BENADRYL.'
On 'ALIEN' I ran acoustic/elec through a Korg ToneWorks.
'WARM SUICIDE' was recorded with various gear at a buddy's house.

Pretty groovy setup. I wish I could ay the same about mine, but I'm usually strapped for cash. Oh and "filthy" is good. Or atleast in that context
Here's another that I'll upload to soundlcoud when I'm finished. I've just been making silly beats 'cause I don't have a mic. But one of these days...
