The weather conditions seemed perfect after i finished work earlier today. I decided to chance my luck in a few fields closer to home. After driving around for about twenty minutes, i came across a field that looked perfect.

The field was surrounded with barb wire fencing and the only entrance was covered in mud. The mud looked about an inch thick at most, so i attempted to walk through it. After two steps, my foot went right through the mud and i was covered up to my knees.

I decided to get the fuck out of there and head back to the car. On the way back to the car, there was an awful smell coming from me. It turns out the mud was infact cow shit...

Probably the worst hunting trip ive experienced, i cant imagine it gets much worse than that!

Why not check that spot we talked about a while ago, at the top of the city? Might be doing well now?

In other words a kind of cultural brainwashing is necessary for modern cultures to work at all.
The consequences of the acceptance of this situation of brainwashing is further acceleration toward catastrophe."

I recently moved to Sheffield, so I'm looking forward to going 'walking' in the peak district this weekend .

Although, I'm a complete newbie when it comes to hunting. I've read through a bit of this thread and it looks pretty epic so far. Its been raining here since Sunday, so hopefully I can have more than just a pleasant walk on this saturday .

Any tips / advice for me?

This morning I got up at 7 (I've got the week off work) and went down to the local park again as it had been 2 days since I lasted picked from it. I managed to get about 20 but I'm coming down with the cold so after about half an hour I went back to my bed.

Got back up at 1 and decided to check out a few fields (Sheep) that might produce. No luck, I spent 2 hours searching and all I got for my troubles was an electric shock

Finally went back to the local park and was on my knees and found 60. The majority of them are small. Should I pick them if they are this size?

I'm just going to dry these for 3 days and store them in a little airtight food box I got from Tesco. Probably take them in a couple of weeks.

You don't seem to have that many pins, it's a matter of preference really, some people -including myself prefer to leave the pins in the ground so they then get a chance to spread their spores and more can grow. Just, if you can help it don't pluck them straight up including the roots as this messes up their rooting system underground.

I was working at a country park this summer and it just so happens that the over-flow carpark is full of liberty caps  most of my working days have been spend shroom hunting!

Although, the weather in Scotland has still been drier than we are use to at this time of year..
