Any lib hunters know if you can cultivate libs?
I asked in the cult forum and have not received an answer.

I don't know the details but I believe it's a difficult thing to do and not viable with the common teks.
Hopefully one of the knowledgable mycologists turns up with a scientific explanation.

I heard its possible to dig up the patch and put it in your garden.
The shrooms fruit from mycelium; an organism which spreads underground. If you found a piece of soil with a load of libs on it, you could dig a square block of soil and plant it in your garden in the hope that the mycelium would spread and fruit every year.
As for cultivating libs indoors, its too hard and pointless when theres loads of other way easier strains to cultivate.

So all of you that have found Libs over the last couple of days, has it rained previously (last week or so) where you found them?

Rain !!! Monday through til this morning ! Temps dropping slightly.
I love it when the weather "inproves" everyone else bitches about the rain....

Having exclusive spots also helps. waaaay doon sooth.

yes it was raining continuously until about 5 days ago.Ive noticed that they where not coming up while it was raining, but as soon as the rain stopped they appeared, but are still not growing much on the flatter more water logged parts of the fields.

Well had a day off work today 'sick', so decided to go for a bit of a hunt. Had a good wander round and found a few, although things are still few and far between. Also its very hard to spot them dry in a load of dry grass. Could of been worse though!!! Here's some pics.

Good luck mate. I would have gone out today if i hadn't been working, temps haven't been too bad and we had a bit of rain a couple of days ago.
Now i'm stuck without a car till this Sunday,, . I think i want more rain before i go again anyhow, the met office says there's a chance of some in Northern areas on Sunday, so if the temps stay low it might work out well for next week.
There's some UK weather tools here if anyone's interested.

Few days of rain, and now a nice sunny morning, may be a good time to check again

Had one or two finds over the last few days but nothing in bulk, annoying really because I want to go looking for new patches .
Got a few small questions as this is only my second year picking.
1) Do you guys have any luck with this kind of field, if not could some pics be posted of habitats you have the best luck with. (Pic below)

Does anybody find their libs in grass in close proximity to this type of bush?

And finally here is a pic of one I found the other day:

Sorry, im not trying to hijack the thread I just thought it would be easier than making a new one.

that field looks OK to me,I'm sure i would find libs there but never confine yourself to one field, broaden your horizons and you will find a lot more.

spot on, that is exactly the type of habitat you are looking for. that doesn't mean that lib's will grow there for sure, but it is a good starting point.

it is gorse, and no. but then again gorse doesn't grow where i hunt. so looking for gorse means very little either way.

Ja things are looking up, even though it's quite hot, a nights rain and 50 mature with lots of pins left for luck !
Just a little colder now...
