Taken from the Princeton Review: I don't have a link because you need to sign up to see the rankings, but
"2009 Best 368 Colleges Rankings"
"School Type: Birkenstock-Wearing, Tree-Hugging, Clove-Smoking Vegetarians
Based on a combination of survey questions concerning political persuasion, the use of marijuana and hallucinogens, the prevalence of religion, the popularity of student government, and the students' level of acceptance of the gay community on campus."
Anyway, here they are:
1. Warren Wilson College Asheville, NC
2. Hampshire College Amherst, MA
3. Bard College Annandale-on-Hudson, NY
4. The Evergreen State College Olympia, WA
5. Bennington College Bennington, VT
6. Reed College Portland, OR
7. Sarah Lawrence College Bronxville, NY
8. Simon's Rock College of Bard Great Barrington, MA
9. Vassar College Poughkeepsie, NY
10. Wesleyan University Middletown, CT
11, University of California--Santa Cruz
12. State University of New York--Purchase College
13. Colorado College Colorado Springs, CO
14. Oberlin College Oberlin, OH
15. University of Vermont Burlington, VT
16. Skidmore College Saratoga Springs, NY
17. Beloit College Beloit, WI
18. Brown University Providence, RI

Antioch would be a good one to put on there. It was located in Yellowsprings OH, but it closed down last spring.
I think there is still a group of ex-Profs, and students that are doing an Antioch in exile thing. I visited a chick down there last year, and that whole town is amazing. Very comfy place.

Okay I'm going to assume 'granola' means 'cool' or 'legit' or something along those lines. All this damn lingo confuses a person when they are fucked up.

Where's Northern Arizona University? Flagstaff is filled with Birkenstock-Wearing, Tree-Hugging, Clove-Smoking Vegetarians types. I think I might even be one of them.

Heh, I attended UC Santa Cruz (hippie school) and UC Santa Barbara (highly ranked party school @ the time)... no wonder I never got my degree!
I always wanted to go to Reed College in Oregon, but the tuition seemed ridiculous - 'specially as I didn't have a solid focus.
Now I'm taking ceramics and guitar at the local community college here. Wouldn't have it any other way!

i'm surprised humbolt state isnt on there. however, i am not surprised at Hampshire. i visited there when i was still considering going to college. they let you create your own major for crissakes, one guy's major was ultimate frisbee, i think.

Why isn't App State up there? Every time I go to Boone I see hundreds of people biking along in tie dye shirts and dreads halfway down their back.
