New found Sweden (possible psilocybe!)

Habitat: Lib-field
Gills: grey, not attached, gills.
Stem: white, solid.
Cap: Creamy caramel, wavy cap on some of them.
Spore print color: Haven't taken a print yet, but judging from one of the caps I'd say brown-purplebrown.
Bruising: Blue bruising, bruising easly and much, stem was already very blue when I found them, cap bruise blue also.
Other information: trace of a veil on the stem.

I would definitely place that in Psilocybe. Take as many prints as you can and try to have the spores and mushrooms examined if no one can ID them to species here. This one is unknown to me.
Pretty exciting, venomtunga.

For me finding a new species is the greatest high there is. I can't imagine finding a new Psilocybe species.
I want to see what the others have to say though before I freak out. I'm not a Psilocybe expert by any means.
I would pm Workman about this thread and wait to see what Alan says. Both of them are fairly knowledgeable about this genus and regularly read new threads.

Wel, it sucks it might not be new. Are there any features on this one that might leave that possibility open?

The stipe looks to be a different color than strictipes imo
maybe it's just the lighting

I was thinking the same thing although sometimes environmental conditions may cause the cap to undulate, particularly if the species are prone to it.

The annulus is somewhat more well defined than it is in the description.

Found this about Strictipes on Erowid:
It closely resembles P. Baeocystis, but has a longer stem. It tends to be as visually hallucinogenic as that species and probably contains the same or similar baeocystin alkaloids.

i'm no expert but those don't look like strictipes to me. more like cyanescens or something. but they don't even resemble cyans that much, i mean as far as habitat, location, and coloration. and i don't think cyans leave a partial veil like that. i think it could be a new species. IMO. sweet find tho man. i'm sure your stoked!!!

Which picture of strictipes are you using to compare?

I'm not familiar with ps. strictipes, but comparing the pics you linked us to, I'd say these are something else. I dunno, these just look...different. Although I couldn't possibly offer any clue as to what these could be. I'd like to see workman have a go at these, or perhaps you, Alan?

What about Stropharia pseudocyanea or something similar? I wouldn't expect something like strictipes to blue so much. And he said they were blue to begin with.

until now, i thought that p.strictipes resembled p.semilanceata very much... even to the extent that many semilanceata hauls have at least some strictipes in them...
