I'm public-transporting it up as I don't really have a clue where I'm going. Which would be the best place of public interest to hop off at.. I'm not trying to steal your spot or anything, I just want to get nice and out there man..

I lost count of how many rainbows i saw today, there was one right in front of me most of the way driving home,, it was pretty cool. A nice touch to the day out anyway.
They weren't heavy fruiting at my spot but it's definitely getting better,, by this weekend, who knows ? The weather's perfect..
I think you're good to be (possibly very) optimistic,, .

Because modern institutions depend on the transmission of a certain world view and then willing acquiescense in the truth of that world view by the populations into which it is being exported.
In other words a kind of cultural brainwashing is necessary for modern cultures to work at all.
The consequences of the acceptance of this situation of brainwashing is further acceleration toward catastrophe."

I must just live in the worst place - theres not even a normal mushroom out here yet.
I am on south coast low land though. Wish I was up in walse, yorkshire or scotland. You guys from those places seem to be getting monster hauls.
I'd be happy with finding 50 after 3 weeks of hunting I try every year as well and I've been trying for 10 years.
The only way I can get a decent pick is if I drive to fucking wales.

I'm in limerick county Ireland my season has been shite. Temps are supposed to be better tomorrow. I don't know if my field is just crap or what, a total of 9 libs so far. Just moved here no mode of transportation and no local knowledge so I'm kinda just winging it.

Blow_in, have a wander about and be experimental, the more different fields you try the more luck you'll gain.

Great advice, and I have. I have about 8 fields I visit throughout the week starting at the beginning of September. If it's walking distance I've jumped the fence so far the field across the street is the only one with any notable mushroom activity. Also the field across the street is hilly and not swampy like the other fields.

Commited have been! After spending hours every day at thios time of year for 10 years trying to find a local field I know I'm definately commited.
But driving to wales - naa can't be fucked when I can go quarter of the way to some hippy friends who sell shrooms very cheap.
I just want to find a field nearby that is capable of producing more than 10 shrooms. Lol. In all this time I've only found 2 fields with libs in and the most I've ever picked from those fields was 25.

ego death keep looking in these fields that your only finding a few in and checking them regularly, more will appear as the weather gets more shroom friendly down your way,but while your waiting try other places, and when you find them make a mental note of where they all are as they will get better to. i hope i don't sound as tho I'm patronizing you hear but I'm sure everywhere in the UK gets its fair share, and also i bet when it gets frozen up hear in Scotland the frost will not have hit you yet and your season will still be in full swing,so theirs no need to think its just no use where you are. another thing Ive noticed is that at the beginning when they are just starting to appear i personally find more on hilly areas, don't know exactly why but i do,so you should give them a try to. another thing i find really helpful to judge just how much in to the season i am is to check local gardens and parks, you don't have to pick them and break the law but it will give you a good idea of how many are out at that time. one more thing i find helpful is that i usually see a lot of other familiar looking shrooms growing in the same fields as libs,so usually when i come across these i figure its a good place to start.
hope some of that info ain't to useless to you and it helps you with your mushy quest.

I've never successfully found any semilanceata... I'm hoping to change that tomorrow, I got a map out and planned a nice walk (~10miles). That should keep me busy for most of the day .
Does time of day have any relevance? and do you guys have any pics of the sort of fields you venture into?

the only relevance Ive found to the time of day you pick is to get their before anyone else does. and the fresh ones in the morning may be a bit harder to spot as they are quite camouflage until the sun makes them paler.

SWIM and his friend found 9 in a new spot far from home yesterday before a job. They found 200 today however in a local spot.
They seemed to be mainly in the long grass and shaded areas at the edges / by trees.
SWIM reports that most of the new patches he has tried so far have still been too dry as are flat and exposed to sunlight. These patches are known to harbour the trippy fruits after information from an old picker.
