Teen pleads guilty to trafficking mushrooms

One of the three people arrested in early June on a variety of drug charges pleaded guilty Tuesday morning in district court.
Rickey Miller, 19, pleaded guilty to trafficking in a controlled substance in the amount of 14 to 28 grams of Psilocybin (mushrooms).
Under the plea memorandum, the state agreed not to pursue the charges of trafficking in a controlled substance Level I, possession of a controlled substance (LSD), possession of stolen property (a firearm), carrying or possessing a concealed weapon and conspiracy to possess a controlled substance.
When Miler is sentenced Sept. 2, he faces a term of two to 15 years in the Nevada State Prison. Probation is not an option.
Miller, represented by attorney Fran Archuleta, was the second person to plead guilty to the drug charges stemming from the June 3 traffic stop.
Raymond Vincent Garza and Jillian Jean Sasser were also arrested, and Garza has already pleaded guilty to two counts of offering, attempting, or commission of an unauthorized act relating to a controlled substance -cocaine and methamphetamine.
He faces one to six years in prison on each count when sentenced on Aug. 12. Probation is an option. Sasser will be arraigned on Aug, 5.
The three were stopped by law enforcement authorities Tuesday night at the intersection of Lima Lane and St. Clair Road on suspicion Sasser's vehicle was speeding.
The vehicle allegedly contained approximately $600, 41.5 grams of marijuana, 8.2 grams of ecstasy, 48.3 grams of Psilocybin mushrooms, 3.1 grams of cocaine, 1.1 grams of crack cocaine, 2.2 grams of cocaine base, several pipes, scales and two guns - a .357 Magnum and a .380. One of the guns had recently been reported stolen.
District Judge David Huff told Miller he needed to hear what he had done before accepting the guilty plea.
"I was living in Reno, and I had some mushrooms, and I came down to Fallon to party," Miller said.

In a nutshell, cocaine base is the smoked form (crack, for example, is cocaine base) while cocaine salt is the common powder form.

Veggie posts a majority of all the news stories I have seen here.
If you ask me it looks like he is getting off fairly light. They pretty much whipped away the stolen gun and the acid he was carrying.

The really stupid part is they are letting him off of the real crimes (theft of a firearm) and charging him with the victimless crimes (drug possession).

Amen to that, Seuss. It's a shame too, because from the description, it had Gonzo written all over it... could've been a radical trip for them but Johnny Q. Lawboner had to stick his nose in.

Yeah, he did get lucky that they dropped all those other charges.
But goddamn, 2-15 years for an ounce 14-28 grams of mushrooms? How the fuck can they even prove that's trafficking? That could easily be personal use.

The prison sentence is probably mostly for the crack cocaine and the handguns I am assuming. Nevada does have very strict drug laws regardless.

what about the fact that they had all these drugs and guns and they were speeding!? wtf, i never speed, especially when im makin a run... also its ridiculous that he could get the gun charges dropped, that was the most dangerous thing in the car!!
