can laboratories detect synthetic urine?

ive searched on this site for info and seem pretty confident the synthetic urine kit i have will work... the only thing is that it is like 2 years old, never used and still packaged, but its been sitting in my car for all that time, and through winter and summer etc. so what im asking is if anyone can tell me if there are any current methods your average corporate drug testing clinic can use to detect synthetic urine these days, and if my kit is compromised due to aging and the temperature extremes? has anyone ever failed using the synthetic method, and how so?

yes they can detect synthetic urine, some labs test for covering agents and synthetics as opposed to the drug metabolites, the employers feel that if you're trying to hide something then they dont need you working for them

A lot of places just do the cup and if everything seems fine they won't do anything to it but throw it out, at least thats how it has always worked for me. But if it reads positive or invalid they will or re-test you. better to be safe than sorry but if must so be it.

er, never heard of them being able to test for synthetic urine, i would be concerned about the age of yours though.
I used it for pre-employment. The fact of the matter is it works because they themselves use synthetic urine to calibrate the tests to negative with all the consistencies of urine. I don't know how they would even test for it.

i might get a new kit then.. ive used the synthetic urine for pre-employment without any problems, and ill be going to the same place too, its just been 3 years since ive used it, and im paranoid that in that time they have gotten better at fake urine detection. but with what you say i should be fine... anyone else have insider info?

I have used Quick Fix synthetic urine for more than a couple of FAA-administered drug tests and never had any kind of problem at all.
I would stake my freedom on the ability of that stuff to pass a drug test.
