Pinquecula/Ptygerium (Surfer's Eye)

Hello, About a week ago I woke up with a scratchiness/foreign body sensation in my right eye. It was irritated all day and I began looking in the mirror to see what the deal was. I noticed a small white bump like thing on the White(conjunctiva) of my eye on the nasal side. Basically there is a white bump on the white of my eye right next to the blue part of my eye. I looked it up online and found info on Pinquecula/Ptygerium. It is a condition caused by over exposer to UV light, dust and wind. I work outdoors and have not been wearing UV sun glasses. I went to the Dr. and sure enough that is what it is. It will not go away on its own and you can't have it removed unless it grows over the CORNEA and interferes with vision. So I just have to deal with this. Does anyone else have this?? It's very common with surfer's and outdoor enthusiast. I encourage everyone that spends significant time outdoors to protect your eyes. Does anyone else have similar stories or experiences???
Thank you

@ pinquecula. Sounds like spanish for Pink Asshole or something.
On a serious note though, I would just wear eye protection whenever possible, and see if your insurance might cover the removal of something like that. It could be as simple as a few clicks of a laser.
