I can't drink tequila.
What does it being distilled five times do for the vodka? Make it smoother or something?
Tangerines- I don't need hair on my chest.

exactly, it gets smoother and has less taste, the point of vodka is to be as tasteless and odorless as possible. Thats why its my favorite kind of liquor.

You can't go wrong with the Captain, but if all you've had is the Standard Captain Morgan, my friend you owe it to yourself to buy a Bottle of Private Stock. Rum is the only hard liquor i truly enjoy by itself and Private Stock is personally the cream of the crop that I've had so far (not saying something better isn't out there, I just haven't found it yet that's all. If you're into something with a little Flavor the Captain Morgan Tattoo is like drinking candy and mixes well with just about anything. I'd go with the Private Stock. Drink on buddy! -justin, your still underage rum advocate

anejo isn't a pricing feature. anejo means aged, as opposed to repesado (rested) and blanco (white)
an anejo must be aged for a year to three i believe, repesado for a month to a year,
blanco is fresh, not aged more than a month. blanco tequilas are typically favored for margaritas, not shots.
the more aged, the smoother the tequila. most good tequilas can be bought all three ways, the price dependent on the brand not the age level...
on that note, i recommend Corazon repesado or Cazadores Anejo, good quality, reasonable price.
i work in a tequila bar...90 varieties behind the bar...

if you go to an irish pub, they will have a long list of scotches and whiskeys, we've got lots of tequila. literally 90 or so different kinds, some very fucking expensive (don julio 1942 and HerraDurra Seleccion Suprema run like 40 bucks a flight-three shots)

If its hot weather...
Get a bottle of PERNOD. (pronounced per-no)
What you do with it:
1 oz Pernod 5 oz ice cold water 1 sugar cube
Deeeelicious! Its very much like light Absinthe, ideal for a hot day. The prepared drink is 7.5% alc (15 proof)

LOL you don't drink that stuff straight. Thats like drinking lemonade syrup straight. You just don't do that, it's meant to be diluted.
If you want to retain the spirit proof dilute it with 5 parts vodka instead
Try adding a wee bit of sugar xk3m, it brings out the anise

I'd rather not wee in my pernod, thanks very much.
I honestly think it just tastes better straight. Haha, oh well, sucked in to all my friends whom I forced to drink straight as well. Too bad.
I prefer drinking my spirits straight, don't know why really... I guess I'm just a weirdo.
Try the Oyzo with lime though, that's primeness right there, like a new kind of pernod, less "french"
whatever french duffy decided that pernod was meant to be diluted obviously never told anyone in my neck of the woods, nobody drinks it so nobody tells me how it's supposed to be drunk. i went to the web site and it told me to mix it with champage for fucks sake, so i just though,t nah, fuck it, straight works well for me.

Bong vodka. Its $40, and its mostly for its novelty properties (you CAN make a killer bong from it though...)
But the vodka IS damn good. If you are just looking to get drunk for cheap, go with some Lord Calverts candadian Whiskey.

its SOOOOO good.
It's not REALLY vodka... It's brandy...
Vodka is made from potatoes, not grapes.

Most vodka is not made from potatoes, but from grains. Some vodka is indeed made from grapes and even sugar beets!

A day that you don't learn something is a day wasted.
"The key to distillation is the separation of alcohol from the water content of fermented liquid. Because water freezes at a higher temperature than alcohol, the Eastern Europeans were able to separate the alcohol by freezing fermented liquid during the winter months. As a result they were left with a drink with a higher strength than that produced by fermentation alone. This was the earliest method of producing stronger spirit in Eastern Europe. The techniques of distillation didn't spread from the west until the fifteenth century. From that time to the mid nineteenth century all Vodka was made in a pot-still using local natural resources such as wheat, barley, ryes, potatoes and rice."
Thank you! My lesson for the day has been learned.
I always thought vodka was made primarily from distilled potatoes.

ya beers cool to sit back and chill, maybe burn a couple...
i just don't like the amount of liquid i have to consume to get a good buzz in comparison with whiskeys (which i prefer) which i can sit and within a half hour have a decent buzz if i want to.
But i will still consume it if necessary

Get a bottle of PERNOD. (pronounced per-no)
What you do with it:
1 oz Pernod 5 oz ice cold water 1 sugar cube
Deeeelicious! Its very much like light Absinthe, ideal for a hot day. The prepared drink is 7.5% alc (15 proof)
I will have to try that for sure. What's it taste like?
A tasty aromatic anise flavor with herbal tones.
Quote:
aniseed as all fuck, but really refreshing.
Thats because you need to dilute it with 5 volumes of water, or how much you prefer. And don't forget the sugar cube
Its how you are supposed to drink any kind of pastis. The sugar cube is optional, but comes recommended.

Jagermeister and red bull is nice too.
Saying that though, I'm not a fan of liquor.. I only really drink cider .

Chivas Regal 12yo. I'm enjoying some right now. That and Jameson are pretty sacred to me. Chivas is about $45Aud though, might have to give that one up until I get some more regular work/peddle some more goods.

Nonsense! Much moonshine is like that yes, but if you got a shiner who knows his craft you'll end up with a flavor so good you cannot buy it in the store.
Most booze nowadays is essential oil mixes in watered down alcohol with food coloring. Any shiner that knows his art can outdo most of what you buy in liquor stores easily.
Most of whats in the liquor stores nowadays is just synthetic crap. A 55 gallon drum of spirits, one of water, a few measures of essential oil and synthetic substitutes and additives, a sack of sugar, mix it up and presto, 125 gallons of "liqueur"
Disgusting.
I'm a shiner, strictly for personal use I shine some hausgemachter Absinthe, and its better quality be far than most whats sold as "absinthe" today.
