ok so your asking me why do i need a tyvek substitute, well i bought some WBS earlier and got it soaking, 12 pint jars worth, and its been 12 hours, i dont want to let it soaking longer than that, i went out to pick up some tyvek envelopes after i had it soaking, the post office was out, said they dont know when they would be getting more in.....?
and i couldnt find any anywhere else, i went to walmart in their envelope section, target, walgreens, etc, no luck
i have a bunch of polyfill so could i use that? i dont really want to though
what about a cottom t shirt ? would that provide proper air exchange ?

Drill one half inch hole in each of your lids and use the polyfill, it will work just fine

It'll probably be fine... If you are scared, use 2 1/4" holes... But it will be harder to stuff poly in them.

I'd go with a smaller size hole than 3/4". 3/8" would be plenty.

From a math/gas exchange standpoint, it would take four 1/4" holes to equal the size of one 1/2" hole. In other words, a 1/2" hole is four times the area of a 1/4" hole. (A 12mm hole is four times as large as a 6mm hole) RR

well guys i went to walmart to but a 1/2"er, and did my holes with polyfill cause i hate cutting corners
BUT NOW I HAVE A SERIOUS ISSUE
ive pressure cooked plenty of brf+verm jars, now i go to pressure cool these, i figured i would just turn the stove on and get the water hot, i start sticking the fucking jars in there, i picked one up to move it around a bit to fit the last one, and the bottom fell out, i looked at it and it was warped!!! the fucking water wasnt even boiling, almost but not quite, wtf happened here ?!?!

I've done the same thing when I had cold water in the jars.
When the cold water in the jar, reacts with the hot water in the PC, the glass cracks.
