This is the Strain I have been working with for some time to get it Stabilized, The Specimine was first collected from the Mid-Eastern Texas area, Wild Growing in a pasture, Losfreddy Collected a Spore Print.

Here is the original thread... These Were all Tiny Tiny Mushrooms they were grown in a milk carton.
I first received my print in November or December of 07.
Here is what I got for a first flush from my first casing of the Wild Texas Strain.
Just Pitiful... Almost made me think they were something else.
 
Then the Second flush came along... Look how different they are.
So a ton of un-documented work (damn it) later, over a course now of 5+ months work with this strain... I believe I have Finally Done it!! Stabilized the strain!! Im beginning to wonder how big they can actually get!! Look!
Here was a second or third Isolation...
 
 
 
I was out of town for the first flush and my C/O took care of it for a few weeks so I dont have Pics (Sorry) until the 3rd flush... The first flush is where my 60 Free Prints thread Came in, Here are a few of the third, fourth flushes so far... I will point out some Key Details as we go along
Not too key IMO... Prolific, but Small Fruits... VERY POTENT!!!
 
 
 
 
In the third flush the caps always begin to get this wavy look to them... Kind of a neat trait if you ask me
  
Then the caps begin to flatten out and even upturn upon Maturity Now!!!
 
WOW!!! I have Never managed one from this strain AT THIS SIZE!!!
OK... Now that you have read the whole thread, and looked at the pics, and are now thinking to yourself..."I want to work with a strain like that" Here Is your Chance... I just so happen to have made a VERY Large number of prints from this particular casing pictured, over the course of 4 flushes... I bet if they were re-introduced to outside conditions they would thrive! They have a high requirement for FAE and lots of it
That was the first flush of the first casing made from the first print I received in the mail... It was a weak strain but with STRONG potential...

out of curiosity, what did the VERY first mushroom/print look like?
was it all stringy like those first ones?

Those ARE the first mushrooms in the pic at the top!
And the first print I got from Losfreddy was DARK as hell and thick too... you could actually see it through the foil itself
The first prints that I took from this strain Sucked real bad... so I started them on agar and went from there and now Here I am... Proud owner of a Strain I personally Stabilized... It may not mean anything to you guys but Im proud to have done it and I feel that I should Share the Wealth from my Strain.
Workman will get my sample soon and ID it for me... Even if it is something thats already around... I still Stabilized it thus far and Im proud of that

Can Anybody say 5th Flush!! These are new pics from my 5th flush... i took a few shrooms cause the display the traits that I want the most... Well 1 mainly, so I cloned it to agar and an LC... but I think Im running out of useable generations without destroying the integrity of the strain that I have created... These will be the last clones made for Isolation of the substrain... I do believe that the last time I cloned to agar i only had two different substrains (sectors) produced and this so far is my favorite, so Im going to attempt to capture it in a monoculture, sealing my work on this strain in stone...
And here are the ones I picked to clone
This is my Clone...
Here is some of the work step by step...
I tore the stem in half and pulled a tiny fibre loose with my tweezers
And Placed in on a fresh agar plate to grow out
the cap just for show... also gonna print it for later use
I used the "core sample Tek" to create a clone LC... Thats my upload limit for the day... I will have others up tomorrow, finishing this post up

Pmenace, just to let you know
since i received your print, i've started multiple cultures and i will be doing some extensive isolating of the quick mycelium
i'm going to mix up my best substrate yet and spawn to about 6 inches of substrate so we can see how big these babies can really get
i will keep you informed bro

Aight, to finish up the post from the other day
Now when I am core sampling, I always only pass the needle thru the mushroom just 1 time so i make a slige into the stipe with a scalpel and pull the needle upward to get it out, while the whole time I am holding an alcohol soaked paper towel around the tip of the needle, as you can see here
