An estimated €8 million worth of cannabis resin was seized by the Customs National Drugs Team in Rosslare Harbour on Monday.A 27-year-old man and a young woman aged 20 were arrested following the drugs haul which is one of the biggest in the history of the port.

A 27-year-old man and a young woman aged 20 were arrested following the drugs haul which is one of the biggest in the history of the port.
The couple who are both from Cork, were detained at Wexford Garda Station for questioning.
The seizure was made after customs officers stopped a truck which arrived on a ferry from Cherbourg, France at approximately 4 p.m.
The drugs were discovered hidden among legitimate cargo, packed on two wooden pallets described as footwear'.
The cannabis weighed 1,000 kilogrammes or 2,500 lbs and was detected following risk profiling' by customs officers who were assisted by the drug detection dog, Dillon.
The man and woman were arrested shortly after 7 p.m under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
They can be held for up to seven days.
