Ideas for supplemental income

I've recently turned 18 and I've been thinking about my future. I won't bore you with the details of what I've been reading and stuff like that, but here are some ideas that I have for making income that I think are quite feasible:
#1) Model nude for an art class. I definitely need to research this more, but it seems like a good idea, I have no problem with being nude.
#2) Sell plasma. Hell, it's probably saving people's lives and it's easy. I'm quite healthy, should be able to tolerate it.
#3) Sperm bank. I'm not fond of the idea of my sperm being used to create Children, but it's a pretty illogical feeling.
BTW, I do plan to get a "real" job, this is just to supplement my income, I want to start saving for retirement this year. Anyone have more ideas like the ones I just posted? I think it's important to know that I'm extremely socially liberal.

one and three aren't really worth the time.
one would be nearly impossible to find someone to actually pay you for that and i'm sure they aren't gonna make a job posting or something about it.. nor do they really do this that much anymore i wouldn't think
two is very plausible and an easy way to get some cash.. takes a while to do and you'd definitely make more money in a real job, but it would be alright for some quick cash.
three is a pain in the ass. search on this forum. there have been threads about it before. pretty much a long wait game with not much payoff.
you could always whore yourself out to gay men or fat/ugly women. or sell drugs.
i wouldn't recommend any of that. i say get a regular job and make an honest living.

You might not have a problem with it, but I'm sure others will.

colleges and universities hire nude models all the time.Rarely do they discriminate based on appearances -ive even drawn overweight, hairy men..very average looking women..its not playboy after all...and seniors..occasionally. I'd say go for it.The only problem would be there may be a waiting list..so check out multiple schools. Good Luck oh..try dog-walking too if you have the time.. you're only limited by your energy and perserverance

Try gardening in the summertime? A lot of rich folks spend thousands on concrete planters not realizing they need to WATER them. Very few people realize plants need water BUT they will need help while on vacation.
Rates vary by location. California? $30 a visit. The midwest... $15 maybe. You're not a professional you don't deserve professional rates.
Just put up a couple ads in gas stations, grocery stores. If you do a good job you'll get referrals.

I've said it once, I'll say it a million times... check out http://www.mturk.com
Amazon set that up as a way for people to get menial tasks done. The sucky part is they don't pay very well, but if you dedicate yourself you can make maybe 7$ an hour.

You can earn money from other people's porn, many sites will give you pics you can use on your own site to entice people to sign up. You can get paid quite a bit if you learn the tricks and find a nice niche market.

There are plenty of nude modeling gigs around - artists and universities need nude models, both men and women, though attractive women probably have an overall easier time of it (not for universities, but other artists). I have a friend who does this, the pay is not terrible but it is pretty hard work - you have to pose for a while.
I've donated plasma - not pleasant, but you can get a little money that way.

Has anyone had any experience with the "adult" section of craigslist(I doubt it)? It seems like a good thing to occasionally do for supplemental income. I wouldn't be willing to do gay porn, which is unfortunate, because I'm just not comfortable with having things inserted into me and because of the std risk if they don't let you use condoms. Doing solo jackoff vids would be sweet, I don't care if gay males jack off to it, it's just as fine as females doing the same thing. *ahem* I know this seems silly and disorganized, but I am quite serious. I'd also like to note that I'm extremely socially liberal, "Stranger In a Strange Land" style.
For a day job I'll also try to use craigslist, it seems that occasionally good opportunities show up on there.

Illegal Immigrants Leaving Arizona in Droves
Posted Aug 27th 2007 5:47PM by Scott Filed under: Republicans, Immigration, Economy
Arizona will implement the one of the the toughest immigration laws in the country come October. That law would pull the business license of a business owner who employs illegals, ten days for the first offense and permanently for the second.
With that law on the horizon, illegals are packing up, selling their property and heading elsewhere. My guess is not back to Mexico but probably to Texas, California or New Mexico:
The state's strong economy has been a magnet for illegal immigrants for years. But a growing number are pulling up stakes out of fear they will be jobless come Jan. 1, when the law takes effect. The departures are drawing cheers from immigration hard-liners and alarm from business owners already seeing a drop in sales.
It's impossible to count how many undocumented immigrants have fled because of the new law. But based on interviews with undocumented immigrants, immigrant advocates, community leaders and real-estate agents, at least several hundred have left since Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano signed the bill on July 2. There are an estimated 500,000 illegal immigrants in Arizona.
It will be interesting to see how this effects the Arizona economy, unemployment rate and overall job market. I imagine the economy will take a short-term hit as employers are forced to pay legal immigrants and citizens more but the market tends to settle those things out. The true numbers to watch will be the ones that how much the state saves in health care costs and other costs associated. I would imagine schools will be less populated but the savings associated with that will tougher to calculate.
The success or failure of this bill is going to have a strong ripple effect as to where the nation as a whole goes. It's interesting to note that this is happening in John McCain's state, so evidently he was going against the wishes of his constituents by supporting the shamnesty bill.
Captain Ed has more.

1. Arizona has it right! Oklahoma has it right too! In May this year the Govenor of Oklahoma signed a bill into law there that is even more sweeping than the one Arizona put into place. Like Arizona, Oklahoma is taking ACTION to protect their citizens agains the overwhelming burdens and dangers illegal aliens cause their communities. Certainly, the Native Americans in Oklahoma know first hand what it feels like to lose their homes to invaders, and they took action now to STOP this INVASTION in it's tracks. So with at least TWO states soon to be virtually illegal alien free, you can bet Americans will be rushing INTO those states from Sanctuary States to once again, feel at home in their own country!! Good job, Arizona. Good job Oklahoma!!!!

2. what a novel idea...(finally). lets hit these business where it hurts.....there will be a slump for a while...but things will get only better....the taxes will go where it counts.....schools, hospitals and emergency rooms, and other public services that our taxes pay for, and cut out non-needed services. but it will go to the "legal" residents of the city and state. good for Arizona...now...the rest of America needs to follow.
iamchavira at 12:30PM on Aug 28th 2007
3. For years I've heard the same old story from the amnesty crowd. You remember, we'll never be able to deport 12 million people. What do you think we'll load up busses and take them all back home? The only person of prominence that had it right was Newt Gingrich who spoke on this issue 5 years ago and said that we wouldn't have to deport 12 million. If we just enforce current laws against companies that hire these illegals, they will go home the same way they came. That being said, we need real reform of the immigration process. It is rediculous that it takes 5 to 10 years to process an application for legal entry from countries that are our allies.
Joe Edgington at 3:06PM on Aug 30th 2007
4. It just goes to show that the pro rule of law crown was right. Take away jobs, benefits, amenities, and most of the illegals will self deport.
The problem is, our politicans seem to still want open borders. Bush while announcing his tough enforcemnt, pulled 1/2 of the border guards off the border. He promised 70 of fence this year, only 13 have been built and border patrol has to ask their employees to volunteer to built it.
Besides Bush's crackdown is not much of one. There are not enough ICE agents to process just the violent crimials. The verificatio system is only for large companies, and does not catch an illegal who has stolen an American SSN.
Bush did not arrange for legal labor to come in to pick up for any shortfall. Why not? He wants a business crisis to "prove" we need these illegals and amnesty is the only way to go.
Why? there is a rumor that Bush has entered into agreements with Canada and Mexico for a North American Union with open border in 2010. Google North American Union and SPP.
Judical Watch has started a lawsuit and has some documents. One Bush government document says that since Americans would resist integration into a North American Union, the policies will be set in secret, by " evolutionary stealth". There is an office in DC right now drafting regualtions for the new entity.
Canadians are protesting the secrecy and the fact they say that these agreements take away soverignty.
I haven't heard that any of this has been ratifed by Congress. You might want to call your Senators, Congressman etc and demand we be given complete disclosure.
So while we have to keep on top of our State reps re illegal aliens, and our Federal reps too, we really need to know if what is behind the refulse to enforce our immigration is is this North American Union.

Oh man, there are so many things I could do, it's so hard to decide. I don't really care about the money(well, I would like to save a lot so I could live off the interest eventually). I don't really care where I live, as long as I have access to high speed internet, good books, and the weather isn't awful I'll be just dandy.
I probably could teach English in a foreign country, I've built up quite an outstanding grasp of it, my test scores are pretty damn high(although they used to be outstanding back when I cared about school). I'm only 18 though, not sure what qualifications are required to teach english in a foreign country, but I'd probably have a hard time doing it. This is going to require a lot of research...

Teaching english in most other countries requires a 4 year degree. That is unless you are teaching in some eastern block country or something like that. And it generally isn't considered really good money, it is usually enough to barely stay afloat while spending some time in a foreign country. Great if you want the experience, bad if you want the money.
Donating plasma generally isn't worth the time. My girlfriend does it for $25 or something like that, but it takes her damn near 4 hours. I can't get it through her head that working at her normal job > $6 an hour plasma donating!!
But you are 18 and summer is here. Talk to your local parks and rec department. They are always hiring people around your age to do work for them in the parks for the summer.

My wife's friend did this shit for a while. The only story I know is he jerked off in front of some old guy who jerked off to him jerking off and then got paid. It'd make me nervous though. That's not to say that there aren't just some cool people with weird sexual fetishes, but there are also some not so cool people with weird sexual fetishes. Creepies can be crazy.

It's a valid point, but you seem to be grouping together "fetishes" with being dangerous which is probably a product of the unfortunate social conservatism in many areas. The idea that sex is bad(I'm not assuming that this is what you meant) is just plain silly and unjustifiable. It's really unlikely that anything would anything and just in case you could bring a tazer or something. I don't really find any sexual fetishes weird, it really isn't very different from proffering different types of music. I'd have no problem with jacking off for old guys, there's just no reason for this to hurt me in any way. Ah, this'll certainly be interesting...
