Ok, I went on vacation for a week and just got home today. I looked at my cakes and there are a tom of mushrooms but a few of them seem to have a very little slimy texture on the cap. Are these ok to eat? I am currently drying them.
While I was gone I did shut the heat off so they were growing i about 50 - 60F. I dont know if this helps but I figured I would mention it just in case.
I know the veils werent broken for more than 4 or 5 days. Please let me know if you have an answer.
