Flowering clones
    #8295962 - 04/17/08 12:15 PM (16 years, 2 days ago)

If you were to flower clones of plants this being mj, does it really take about 7-8 weeks to flower a rooted clone? I know strains make it shorter longer, but roughly speaking.

You don't have to wait that long but you should. How small are the clones?

I dont have any clones, just from reading. From rooted clone to harvest it takes like 6-8 weeks? Then i wonder how people say they harvest every two weeks with sog. Doesnt make sense.

It's a matter of timing. You aren't harvesting each plant after two weeks, you are harvesting a new set of plants every two weeks. This is how I do it, I'll set you up an example.

You clone a mother plant 10 times on January 1st.

Those 10 clones are vegged for 1 month, then flowered.

About 2 weeks into that 1 month, 10 more clones are taken from the same mother.

..... and so forth. That way you'll have a set of 10, uniform female plants flowering at once, and another set only two weeks behind them.

7-8 weeks minimal. i usually add anywhere from 10-20 days to what the flowering time is supposed to be. i like mine well done, plus you loose alot of weight harvesting early and the flavors arent as deep or full.

Flowering time is usually the same regardless of how long they were vegged.

The time you save with clones is the time it takes to germinate the seed and get the seedling up to size (around a month).

Also, as clones have the age of the mother and older plants produce higher yields you also get better yields from clones than from seed (indoor this is).

1 month veg Jadian? Isn't that a lot? I never give them over a week and a half under the MH lamp or they grow too tall.

I dunno, it was an example. I do about a month because I had a screen that I filled out with 3 plants at a time.

Ive thought about trying this one variation to sog, that i got reccomended on other forums since I only have one hps. I could take clones off of a mother and flower the mother and grow more mothers from the clones. But id probably have to get a MH light anyways because i dont think the clones would be ok for 6-8 weeks under a couple 25 watt cfls and a 1 ft tube flouro. Or even worse vice versa, flowering clones, mother under the cfls. And im pretty sure buying the mogul socket with the 125 watt cfl light would cost pretty much what a mh would cost. Im still thinking of what I can do to get the most out of what I have, scrog came to mind but I dont think I want to do that since I have more vertical space then horizontal. And growing from seed to flower then starting back from seed seems like a waste of time since it takes so damn long.

depends on how you grow. If going with a SOG method you don't need to veg much longer then it takes for the plant to root. If you want to train your plants and bush them out you're going to need a bunch of extra time in veg to accomplish that.
