I actually think it would be more useful to calculate pi than to fold proteins, but oh well... :shrug:

I'm joking Rune.

I read somewhere that pi to 40 decimal places is sufficient to determine the circumference of the universe to within a few millimeters. And I think the current world record for pi is past a billion decimal places so we have enough for now. :tongue:

Visible being the key word there. If you'd said visible universe then I wouldn't have felt the need to post.

I completed a sequence at 3am today but when I type in my name which is the same as my sn here it says I haven't completed 1 even though my screen says 1wu complete. Is there something else I have to do or do I just have to wait for them to update it?

oh, so I will have to wait for tomorrow. My PC is a 2.1ghz with 1gig ram but I have a portion of my HD working as ram as well. How long does it take for the average person to complete 1 wu? It takes me 3 days. Just curious.

How long does it take

Different wu are different size, so how long it takes varies. But several days isn't unusual even on a fast machine. These are computationally hard problems to solve. That's why it takes so many of us to make progress.

i did the folding thing for about a week, but i said fuck it and uninstalled when the damn thing would never send in my work status so i could get credit.
