I am cheating myself out of a great life. I thought of this when my "other" self came into existence inside of me. The "other" we will call it and myself "ego" fight one another constanly! It is making me angry because when the "other" is working I am at total peace and realize how invincable the energy my body consists of is. It is a wonderful thing, but it is extremely hard for me to focus and keep the "other" within me. It simply floats away from me....it seems I can literally watch it leave me exsistance as a human. Even me typing my opinion on the situation is enough to take away the exsistance of the "other". Anyway I guess I will stop before I build me ego any bigger than it already was. Anyone know a way around this other than not exsisting any longer?

it is one thing to talk about the ego concept
it is another to be confronted by distinctly separate selves within the stream of consciousness.
Intellectually I can discuss ego structure, habits and self realization, but I actually encounter other selves in the stream only in altered states:
1. salvia, 2. lucid dreaming, 3. strong psychedelic, 4. deep meditation.
If you are plagued by experiencing separate selves, I think you have a mental state modulation issue: frames are lingering in your consciousness longer than with normal consciousness.
you may need to cut out psychedelic entertainment for 6 months and become interested in foods and practices that enhance health. you also need to be interested in stream of consciousness and states of mind.
all of the psychedelics and dreamstates (and emotional states) cause images and sensations and thoughts to linger longer in the stream.
it is normal to experience some shift of state of mind as well when you shift attention from one thing to another after a long spell.
having separate selves is natural, but if you cling to the experience you can enhance the impact of it and extend the duration of the event and make it more complicated.
that is why I think you should study the phenomenon and see it for the natural thing it is, see how your fascination in it feeds the frequency and intensity of it, and learn to be fascinated with other things like the stream of consciousness it self
or anything

YOU, as mind-body IS the ego. Kill the ego and YOU die. The 'Other' is what is immutable and eternal, and our task is to 'incorporate' its Reality as the TRUE Center of our life, NOT the ego. The ego needs to be dethroned as the center of consciousness. The Transendental Self, Pure Being is the Real Center of our unconscious-conscious-superconscious mind. As St. Paul said: "We have this treasure in earthen vessels." Merging our finite selves into the Infinite is amazing, but having Infinity dwell in the finite is more amazing. THIS is our task. This is a Christian illustration of the task wherein Christ is the Transcendental Self symbolized by a cross, and the ego is symbolized by the small case letter 's.':
 
The Transcendental Self, Christ, (Buddha-Mind, Tao, etc.) is like the effect of a magnet under a sheet of paper sprinkled with iron filings. Like the symmetry and order which results from the filings aligning themselves along the magnetic lines of force into a pattern, the Transcendental Self orders the otherwise random and disordered nature of the unenlightened, unsaved, unconscious person's inner and outer life. They are then said to be living in The Way.
Heaven and Earth co-exist. In Chinese thought, Man is between both realms. This is the inner meaning of the I Ching's Tri-grams. The Tao in Chinese thought means 'The Way.' The very same holds true for the Christian symbolism. Between Heaven (Formlessness) and Earth (Form) there is Man symbolized by the cross, for [Universal] Man in between is intermediary. The cross symbolizes the crucifixion of the ego. The ego is dethroned as center. Christ is acknowledged as the Transcendental Center of one's being. In Christian-speak, this translates into making Christ (The Way, the Logos) one's 'personal LORD and savior. [DO NOT imagine a long-haired bearded Jesus in this connection]. People may not like the language because of too much personified baggage, but this is the essential meaning in terms of psychospiritual process.

IMO
mythological representations can be useful as a proxy to what is really happenning only if the symbols are palatable and welcome.
otherwise what is translated is a life or death struggle.
unfortunately - if the proxy myths are not acceptible and well understood - while the life and death part strikes a chord -
you end up feeding the flames with gas.
the fire is raging now.
some healing foam first, please.

I like to think of my ego as an angry kid brother. He's smaller than me, so I could kick his ass if I wanted to, but it wouldn't shut him up. I'm not that vindictive.
So I just drag him around with me, and when "I" start acting up, I say "I'm not gonna let some punk kid tell me what to do."
It's just a frame, but it's a useful one, especially if you can have some compassion for the "kid".

Make friends with your ego and look at it as something good. No human is ego-less and your ego will never be pure, but you can at least respect it for what it is...interesting and unique to you. We are not spirits, were humans. I believe when we die, we are only our spirit and our ego leaves. But while you are alive, the best thing to do is respect your ego. You'll find that the part of you that respects your ego is your spirit, and the two of you can live together in peace 
Your problem is that you look at your own ego as the enemy because you cant get rid of it. That is why you have to make it friends with it, because it wont go away. Realize that your ego is a part of you and if it is damaged, then feel sorry for it, love it, and let your spirit lift it back up! In the words of the great Patrick Bateman, "We can always empathize with ourselves."

Life-Death occurs with each Inspiration-Expiration! Inspiration means in-breath and spiritual awareness, Expiration means out-breath and death. Buddhist Abidharma psychology speaks to the eternal moment in-between.
Some Christians have been insightful enough to illustrate this universal process through their own language. "Palatable?!" Are you serious? Symbols are WAY bigger than our pathetically burdened little minds. Our job should be to understand the Realities which living symbols convey, not judge them based on our own childhood misunderstandings about them. Besides, for the Christian-symbolism-impaired out there, I supplied parallel concepts intended to help those people see the value of Christian symbolism, perhaps for the first time!
As a therapist, the job is to reframe a given thing, not flee from it. A Universal process can be plucked from the moral miasma in which it was originally presented, re-presented in a new light, and if understood anew, the symbols and indeed the very Truth of a tradition that the Western soul is rooted in, can be redeemed in the eyes of someone who has been abused. I don't hate belts because my father beat me with one a few times. I have problems with my father, not the belt. Besides, unless I missed something, I ddn't read anything that railed against anything Christian  .
