Zoomz Harvest 2007
    #7610346 - 11/08/07 08:43 AM (4 years, 6 months ago)

My Harvest this Year is Way down in numbers compared to 2006,
I live in Paisley, Scotland ,My Harvest began 15th Augest(26=1/2 gram dried)but, to often this year I'm finding 2 or 3 when I usualy find 300 to 800(P.Semilanceata),I found the odd 100, & 297 is My Highest this season.
is this just a normal Seasonal variation with Wild Mushrooms?,
or The Dreaded Global Warming ?
a friend in Switzerland says He has similar Low numbers.
So, How is the Harvest in Your country ?

in comparison to last season its not been fantastic for me either, the season was way late starting, didnt find any until october which was odd...
i think the wet summer affected the mycelial growth earlier in the year which has held them back...

i havent had any huge hauls like in pevious years, but then again i have only been picking 4 times so i probably missed the best days :yesnod:

i wouldnt call it a bad year really... but certainly i havent had any days where i filled a tesco bag like last year...

some other pickers i know have found nothing at all this year

This is my first year picking and unfortunately i've not had much success. I now know what i'm looking for but have not managed to find that many libs while out hunting.

Im planning on going out hunting once again this weekend. After looking at the weather temperatures, ive got a feeling this might be my last weekend before they all disappear until next year!

Oh well, looks like it's all over for another harvest, I got 39(1gram dried) yesterday,
then stayed on the Hill & had a Big Fire , & then a heavy frost froze the whole area, means that this might be My last find of the year,
My total for this Harvest was 945 (25 gram dried) ~*~ My total for Harvest 2006 was 18150( 454 gram dried) !
a huge difference ! , I hope this was just a normal seasonal variation & not something very serious,
this Realy Made Me appreciate the Sacred Mushrooms I did Find
