Monotubs don't require spraying though, right?

is it just me.. those casings look really dry.
Cool little tub you've made yourself there.. is that lunch tray just covering a hole in the lid so you can lift it off and mist?

You do if they don't have enough moisture or if fae has been poor.
If everything is in good condition and was prepared well, yea, generally you don't have to do anything to a monotub. Best to keep tabs on it though, never know if somethin could be unbalanced.

Nice harvest. Did you pasteurize your mgmc? How much coir did you use?

yea I PC Pasteurized the MGMC after mixing it with verm and calcium carbonate, then wetting to field capacity.
I used 1 brick in Monotub1 and 2 bricks in Monotub2, also BRF jars were used in Monotub1 whereas WBS was used in Monotub2.
I'm probably going to throw out Monotub1's contents today and spawn some more BRF to coir in it. M2 has grown 3x more than M1.
I didn't dunk the tubs between flushes, just heavy misting of the side walls and fanning.

I didn't get very many mutants at all, some of the fruits grew to the very top of the terrarium, caps touching the saran wrap screen.
I got some very wet shrooms from monotub1 but not that many of them at all.
I'm going to toss monotub1's contents into the compost heap and spawn 11x 1/2 pint BRF's and 2x WBS Pints in that tub to 2 bricks of coir+coffee+calcium carbonate.
Then I'll make some more BRF half pints later on. I'm nearly out of spawn so my only option is to clean out all my jars in hot soapy water and make more.
But yea after they start to pin i only mist the sides, and when i do that I fan the FC a little. My biggest problem is making an environment thats too wet, or not wet enough once a flush is over. Dunking monotubs is hard I ended up mauling Monotub1 trying to dunk it, probably inflicting more harm than good but o well lesson learned. Heavy misting+fanning seems to work so ill stick with it.

some small ones fell over so I pretty much had to pick them. almost all of them have broken their caps, and if they haven't yet it just means they're more potent . some didn't pop their caps open but I picked them because they grew to the very top of the FC. either way 700g wet off a 2nd flush isn't bad considering the first flush was 1,100g wet.

I cheat with my casing layers to get better pinsets, since I only use straight vermiculite as a csing layer, it can dry out easily, I get my verm to field capacity, then place it, then mist it a bit to get it wet on the walls of the mono, let recolonize 3 days, check it, tilt it to see if the verm is dry enough to "pour", if it's not wait another day, check again, if it's dry enough, pour off any that will fall away, and I notice a very nice even array of myc colonized verm, then i mist it, then i set out to fruit, make sure FAE is at a high, and then watch it flush nicely. About the least I can find to do, without using a clone.

How big are your flushes with a straight verm casing layer in a monotub compared to using 50/50+ or MGMC?

really no difference when considering they've all been multispore.

if i boiled some water on the stove then let it cool, then sucked it up into hella syringes would it be sterile enough to inject my casing with? or would I have to just fill with water then PC the syringe wrapped in tin foil?
also I scrapped the first attempt at a monotub, cleaned it out and spawned 11x BRF half pints and 2x WBS pints to 2 bricks of hydrated coir/coffee/touch of calcium carbonate that was pasteurized and cooled. I'll be taking pics of the styrofoam tubs first flush, whenever it comes (mad overlay and humidity), and the 3rd flush of Monstertub2.

?
if you use a straight verm casing layer, you need not pc nor pasteurize it, it's inorganic, non nutritious, and not one contam will grow on it.
simply open a fresh 20oz bottle of spring water, mix, squeeze to capacity, and wallah, you are done.
i've been doing this method for 2 years, no issues.

here is an isolate, WITHOUT a casing layer
pretty fucking even/nice with a huge flush if i may say so myself. You haven't lived until you've harvested your own weight in dry fruits 8 times over.......
