Please stay on topic- no casual chit chat that is unrelated to mushroom hunting!!!
That said... Let's get this party started.
Three common indicator species for wood-loving Psilocybe in the Bay Area, CA:
Stropharia aurantiaca

Psathyrella gracilis

So they're starting to pop up, eh? The only thing I've seen around are big puff-balls, but I haven't really been looking yet. It was wet for awhile there, but the last few days have been dry and warm. All of your finds seem pretty dry, but I'm glad to see that the season is upon us!

I guess it's pretty nice to have your finds already dried for the most part. Although, I wonder if IDing them is more difficult? Surely not, for the experienced hunters.

that's right. I wouldn't go out there now and try to find new spots..It gets really hard after they get this dry, unless you already have your spot, and it's been there for awhile in the same place
these dry east winds are not good for fungal growth..same thing happened last year, all season..lets hope it doesn't repeat. Still early

This pin had some bluing. It was on a lone, small piece of wood under a stump.

It's supposed to hit the low 80s later this week.

oh, the top photo?..that's just some mycena types from another place. (all so dried out it's hard to tell just from photos)
and then the reddish ones are hypholomas (two photos of hypholomas)..even those were getting kind of withered

I'll edit the pic post

I cannot. I tried to in the PNW thread, and instead, I ended up losing three pages of recent finds, and Ythan had to manually re-attach each post. There is no way to delete single posts.
If chit-chat gets out of hand, I will issue warnings to those offenders.
