Can too much light lead to contamination?
I reckon its cause one brick was infected when they were all sent to me so now theyre all infected. But im on my 4th spawn brick and i can still see a tiny bit of brown forming. I have washed everything, changed the perlite and started a new brick, even washed the floor where its growing and it looks like contamination again....
This is my grow setup:
This is the grow brick...looks good form a distance
This is a close up of the bottom of the brick...look on the right hand sidfe of the pic, it looks like a brown contomination starting, also look at the water crystals forming like dew on the mycelium (in the past these crystals/dew have turned to mould.Maybe too much humidity, should i open the vents once a day?

keep the vents open, you have too much condensation. you need more frequent/fresh air exchange.

Cool thanks i thought so....all that condensation must lead to some sort of mould...although the humidifier running through water should give alot of o2 through there...

it's not the humidifyer, it's the water condensating on a cooler surface than the water is. Like how water condensates on a coke can, it's because the colder surface of the can cools water from the air, even if it's only like 50% humid.
Just keep the air movin, maybe a few holes in the sides. I would do about 8 on each side. your humidifyer supplies plenty of humidity, so there is no reason to keep it contained.

cool i kept em closed cause the instructions for the kit say to do so on mm.org, i also get little flys flying round the shroomz they seem to love em!
il try with the vents open this time though and see what happens...are you 99% sure about this?

im not gonna open the vents, i might let sum fresh air in once a day but im definatley not leaving them open.
Its weird growing in a dark dirty room it sget sucessfull flushes everytime, now in a clean new room im getting contamination everytiume, i jst think that one brick infected the lots when they were sitrting in the post office.
They are replacing the bricks so fingers crossed....
