possible contam

In a grow set up I noticed a green substance on the cake. I let it grow and harvested the mushrooms yet have yet to use them. The mushrooms appeared fine I even cut some open to see if there was anything on the inside however they appear to be perfect. After harvesting I cut open the cake and it was completely white one the inside. The green was only on the outside. Some of the mushrooms however got black tops but I threw those away. Are the ones harvested most likely safe?

what did the substance look like, was it a covering a great percentage of the cake. i once had a 1cm by 1cm sphereical thing growing of a cake. and i just cut it off. the cake was unharmed

the cake was in a mycrobag and the green area was on top of the cake and had some mycelium covering it however it was only on the surface of the cake. It had been in the bag for over 2 weeks and had grown some however never grew more than covering some of the top of the cake. and never appeared to be on the mushrooms however like I said some of the caps turned black like 5 out of 30

Were the five mushrooms that turned black surrounded by other taller mushrooms? If so, the black could be from spore deposits. That happens to quite a few of my shrooms.

no they turned black from something else because the veil hadnt even broken when i picked the crop. I dunno if they could of been aborts or something
