Looks like it might be mycelium. Sclerotia are something else.

It's mycelium, but time will tell if it's mushroom or mold mycelium. It actually has more the look of mold than of multi-spore inoculation, which usually starts out thinner than that. Sclerotia are the stones. Here's a pic of sclerotia forming on agar. RR

I saw some cultures of the same strain of Ps. tampanensis last night, and noted that the mycelium was far more "fluffy" than the other species on agar. They have grown quite a bit since they looked like they did in your photos. The agar wedges were fluffed out just like that about a week ago. In fact, I have a contaminated plate of that same strain right here. It was headed for the trash, so i decided i might as well open it up outside and stick the tamp mycelium in a coffee sleeve.
So yes, I think you're fine. This strain is simply less rhizomorphic and more "splotchy" than most.

I believe that he is growing mycelium from dormant lumps of sclerotia and not spores, which is why the mycelium looks so raised up. It looks fine to me but it is really early. Older tampanensis mycelium develops brownish tan areas so watch for that.

Nice pictures. I like how the stones produce a lot of metabolites as they grow. RR

I was wondering what those droplet's were thanks for clarifying that for me RR. Also can you grow sclerotia decently without rye grass seed I ask because I only have rye seed and I would like to know if it make's that much of a difference? And one more question do you know what happened to Agar, I've been out of the loop lately?
