This is probably a bit of a stretch for the garden but it seemed most appropriate that I post this here. I have this tree in my yod and I'm not sure what kind it is but there's this black fungus lookin' shit growing all over the branches. It basically looks like the branches are growing poop but it's black. It's starting to consume the tree, or so it seems, and I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to remedy the problem. Or should I just bust out a chainsaw, dead it and forget it?
I know I would need to start by cutting a lot of the dead crap out of the tree. But the black shit's growing on a lot of the good branches too and I was wondering what else I might do, in addition. Is there something I can spray it with?
