How stupid can you get to eat something with such a high scientific value? This could've been a very interesting found.

Or it could be a hoax.
That link is from Pravda, and those Russians... it wouldn't be the first time they got loaded on vodka and made up a juicy internet story. 
That fish doesn't look too much like a ray to me. Come to think of it, it looks a little like my sister when she gets up in the morning.

exactly what i was thinking.. the photo in your second post looks exactly like the 'unknown' fish.
