In reply to:

Awhile back there was a thread about some poo ... it was about trying not to get poo from horse that have a high salt diet
cause it drys out your casing ... does that matter??

Good question BoB....I have no fucking idea man.....lolzz

are you talking about a horse getting salt from a salt lick?

I don't think my Uncles horses get any salt.
I know they eat apples.....there are apple tree's on the pasture.

maybe someone else knows.

this would be a great question for Adv Mush Cult.
they need some topics.....lolzz

Yes...... you could use cakes that are on a 2nd flush.
but.....I'd use at least 2 cakes per casing.

"why do I use just horse poo?"
cause its easier!

Somebody should sell poo water, so people using verm/jiffy/grain/etc casings can add it to the casing to get better yields!

Instead of starting a whole new topic I'll address my question here.

Whats the best way to keep poo? Let's say I dont need to use it for another week or 2. Should I dry it out..pasturize it and store it in a air tight container until use?

ok i'll be more specific, if you buy commercial steer manure make sure it says "organic" on the bag . most of that "crap" is chemically treated 'cause its cheaper then sterilizing

I would think most excess dietary salt would end up in the horses urine and not the poo. Although maybe it all gets mixed in together in the stable anyhow. I'll ask my horsey riding friend

Rather than smelling up the house/kitchen by boiling poo on the stove - try the easier, cleaner, cooler tek.

Throw the cooler out on the porch, let cool. No fuss, no muss. If you don't have a porch, well keep the cooler wherever - at least the smell will be contained within the closed cooler rather wafting throughout your domicile.

Horse/cow poop does not smell offensive at all.
