Speaking of ELO, I forgot to mention The Move, before. ELO was formed out of The Move and the stuff from the 1960s is a lot less cheesy. No one in the world can object to "Mr Blue Sky" and claim to have a soul, though.

why would any1 laugh, thats a great album sober, it'd be very relaxing on shrooms. I've wondered about trying Blackwater Park sometime, but I think that might be too much.

I cant believe nobody has said it yet, I heavily recommend The Doors. put The Very Best Of on and let Jim blow your mind.

I'm a big fan of the whole New Weird America movement. I recommend Devendra Banhart, Animal Collective, CocoRosie, Vashti Bunyan, etc. This type of music is seen as an outgrowth of the psychedelic folk and tropicalismo movements of the 1960s, so I find it pleasurable in general and especially conducive to any psychedelic experience.
