I don't know if you all remember but I posted some dried shrooms last week that turned out to be bunk. Well I got my money back and bought these... Possible cubes (newbie guess)? Anyways they were delt to me in plastic bags. Will they be okay in the bags until tomorrow night or should I put them somewhere else? Thanks all.
What do you guys think about this little guy? The guy who gave em to me was trying to tell me something about it being really good or somethine. I didn't really catch his drift:

Take them out of the plastic bags pronto. They look like they could be cubes, try to take a spore print.

those are funky looking
they just don't look like the average cube
definitely a psilocybe..
maybe a little more info on where you picked/got these would help out a great deal..

plastic bags = rot keep them in paper bags or if your not going to "ingest" them (hypotheticaly) dry them in front of a fan
But i would wait for id cuz of what ur guy did last time

Yeah sure. Well I didn't pick them. I purchased them. They are ponics and they were grown in Houston (which really doesn't matter if they are ponic Id suppose.) Anyways I took em out of the bags and I put them in a plastic tupperware container. Is that good??

do u have some newspaper that would be good
I'd wrap them in newspaper or better yet just let them sit out in the open air on the newpaper
the thign with plastic / bags/containers is that moisture can build up with plastic with paper/plate/bag It will dry jus like the mushroom itself

unless they were grown from an LC, they were cultivated using a substrate

haha okay sorry for the newb ideas. anyways, yeah well they aren't feild shrooms they were grown in a house. Like i saw them growing in the guys house. I guess thats why i said ponic (i was thinking inside herb = usually ponic, inside shrooms = guess not.) hah o well i put em in a paper bag. tahnks for all the help everyone

Those are cubes 100%. I see a veil, purple spores, and blue brusing. The long stems are due to the fact that the were cultivated and not wild.

Anyways I would say those are safe to eat
and if you plan on eating them in the next 1-2 days If you have them drying properly you have no problem ingesting them

Cultivated cubes often have long ass stems in pictures that I've seen. These are just not completely dried which makes them look funny. But I think they are cubes.

It could mean that it was more potent. The bluing is caused by a chemical reaction with the active chemical psilocin, and bluing indicates that it has been broken down evidently. As much fun as it is to see them turn blue, it is probably best to handle your shrooms gently so they don't lose potency.

Oh no something bad happened! I left them in the fridge over night (not the freezer) and i just took them out. They are almost black after laying out for like 20 minutes! This is horrible. Are they still okay to eat?

no dont eat them they are rotten sorry to say it but they r if they turned black they are all squishy right? and in the fridge (my fridge) there is allot of humidity that is why they rotted

are they like mushy like like they were rotten or anything? and i cant say i would *ingest* them if they did rot but if they were just damaged by the cold in the fridge then that means they arent going to be as potent as they would have been if you had dried them

well they were wet to begin with. so really what happened was when i took them out they looked the same and were just a little harder (because they were almost frozen) then when they thawed they turned dark dark blue. They were not rotten to begin with. As long as they are safe to injest i will try and see what happens

Just to explain in more detail what happened. They were perfectly normal looking in a paper bag and i placed them in a refrigerator (not a freezer) for about 5 hours or so. When i took them out, they looked the same as when i had put them in but they were hard (frozen, but not completely) I let them sit out on the counter and in about twenty minutes their color turned completely dark blueish/blackish color. I ripped open a stem and it seems to be that the dark color is only on the outside of the stem because the inside is still white. They feel mushy because the once frozen water inside has now thawed.
Also, say they are rotten, what will be the result if i eat them?

The same as eatting spoiled food I guess. Make some tea out of them you should be ok as long as your sure they are cubensis. The worst that could happen is food poisioning if they are indeed cubes. Look like it to me but I don't have them in my hand.

What did you pay for them anyways. You know when their wet they weigh like almost 10times as much as if they are dry. I hope you didn't pay very much, I would guess there is maybe a dime bag their if that. So anything over $20 dollars would be rip off and that's still really pricey.

I am sure you can find some property to sneak on to in the middle of the night. It has it's risks but you could bet if I was in a state where cubensis grows I would be out their picking em. Anyways they are really easy to id, when contrasted to other species of mushrooms. Study the pictures of them out in the wild and go out and find some.

Wow 55 dollars for 4 wet mushrooms, you should smack that guy for ripping you off. First off yes ur right they are cubes. Secondly ur also right that eating rotten mushrooms is like eating spoiled food, its just not good for you and can make you sick. you shouldnt put them in the refridge ever in my opinion just set them in front of a fan in a cool dry place and theyll be fine. If you dont eat them right away they will dry and still be ok to eat at a later date. Good job for posting pics instead of eating unidentified mushrooms which far too many people do! They prolly arent gonna be terrific now that they have oxodized so much but i dont think theyll make you sick.

i freeze edible mushrooms all the time. I still eat um. I have a strong gut though.

It sounds to me like they froze in the fridge within that time, the ice crystals forming in the mushrooms oxidized them so that strong blue/black color that psilocybe and psilocin is was brought out immensely.
This is only a possibility. and i cant see your mushrooms first hand.
