Girls (taking the plunge)

I've had a crush on this girl who lives near me for a while now (we have a mutual friend). We barely know each other but we have smiled and waved at each other and shit like that. We've never really conversed a whole lot though.
This girl is so pretty and my mind goes absolutely blank when she is around. I have no clue what to say to her or how to get to know her better. If I wasn't attracted to her then I could talk to her no problem....but I am a completely shy dork around girls that I am attracted to.
I think that sometimes she might like me (I caught her looking at me several times, I think that she gave me the "eye" once, she has tried to come up and talk to me, she has put her hand on my shoulder, etc..) but I'm not absolutely sure.
Today I saw her standing on the street and I pulled over and I was about to walk right over to her and blurt out, "You are gorgeous". But, I lost my nerve and went into a store instead. I think she saw me walk by. I pretended not to see her.
So, I said "Fuck it" and I just sent her a Myspace e-mail. Here it is:
Hey,
I'm sorry that this is a ghetto Myspace account (I deleted my page some time ago). This is ##### and I have met you several times (I'm *****'s friend). I've waved at you around town every once in a while and I saw you bartending on the weekend. I'm short, skinny, with dark hair, constantly wearing my Misfits T-shirt, and I'm often getting loaded when you are around if that rings a bell.
I just wanted to tell you that you are utterly gorgeous. I wish I could have told you this in person but my head kind of goes blank when you are near and I'm pretty shy on top of that.
I would like to hang out with you sometime. My number is &&& #### and you can call me anytime. If you don't want to call then it's no big deal and you can just take my words as a compliment.
What do you guys think? I need some positive vibes here people. I'm tired of having sex with girls that I'm not really into because I'm scared of the ones that I am into.

you shouldve done it in person, that way if she rejects you its just a normal thing, now you are that wierd guy that sent a myspace note to meat a girl, if she says no all your friends will hear about it and they are going to see that myspace.

Well, this will probably work if she digs you. Otherwise it's just gonna make things awkward. Here's hoping!

If I were you I'd send her another myspace message immediately. This is what it should say:
---------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm sorry for sending you a creepy message on myspace about how hot you are. Can we get together so I can tell you in person like I should have done? ----------------------------------------------------------------------

rejection is a part of life man.
i say this ALL the time. If there was no pain the whould be no good.
if everything was peachy all the time, what would the fucking point be? When you find the one for you all the time you spent looking all the pain you went through will be worth it.

oh i thought you sent her a link to a profile and thats the profile or something, thats not as bad.... but still pretty bad, besides how do you know if she even checks myspace? what if she thinks its spam or leaves a comment that says no? women like confidence and not being able to start a relationship face to face isnt a good first impression.

I don't think that was a creepy message. He was honest, said he was shy around her, and worst case scenario she doesn't reply. He can even see if she has read it or not this way. It's true that in a perfect world everyone would say these things in person, but at least he told her in some manner. Now the ball is in her court.

You haven't heard back from her yet. Don't fret.
If you don't hear back, just wait until the next time you see her and explain that after you sent the message, you realized how much you would have preferred to say that in person. Then buy her a drink, fagmo.
