Not all of them are poisonous, but they are hard to tell apart. People dont cultivate them, because they can be found just about everywhere.

omg, i was wrong, It is active, But not with psilosybin.
Amanita muscaria (also known by the English-language common name fly agaric) is a psychoactive agaric species found commonly throughout much of the world. The quintessential toadstool, it is a large imposing white-gilled white-spotted red mushroom, one of the most recognizable and widely encountered in popular culture. Though it is generally considered poisonous, Amanita muscaria is otherwise famed for its hallucinogenic properties with its main psychoactive constituent being the compound muscimol
Victims of Amanita muscaria poisoning are generally either toddlers or people ingesting it for a hallucinogenic experience.[20]. About one gram of A. muscaria or 50-100 mg ibotenic acid is considered a toxic dose.[34] [35]
Depending on the amount ingested effects can range from nausea and twitching to drowsiness, cholinergic effects (low blood pressure, sweating and salivation), auditory and visual distortions, mood changes, euphoria, relaxation, and loss of equilibrium. Retrograde amnesia frequently results following recovery.[

That's not why people don't cultivate, people don't cultivate it well, because it can't be home cultivated at all.

I believe barbarian vikings used them back then before they pillaged villages. They would eat them and drink their piss because the piss still contains the active chemicals without the skin which causes nausea and stomach aches.

You should heat them to help convert the ibotenic acid to muscimol, drying is optional. You don't HAVE to, your body can handle this conversion, but that's where a lot of the ill side-effects of A.Muscaria come from. Drinking your urine after ingesting will also extend your trip, as the muscimol can't be absorbed by your body in one pass, and you've already stripped the ibotenic acid away. Also, the actives aren't just in the skin, but that is where the highest concentration is reported to be.
Not many (that I know) trip on these regularly, I collected a ton of these last year and was handing it out to friends left & right. Not one of them asked for seconds, but personally I think they're amazing and am still working through the stash.

Yeah, you can't cultivate them. They're mychorrizal-- they only grow in association with the roots of certain trees. Back in Georgia I only found them growing near pines.

You can cultivate them, just not in a lab environment. If you live in the right area though they can be cultivated in your yard.

It's cool footage but they missed the youngest stages. I've always wanted to see an Amanita time lapse though thanks! Would have also been cool to watch it decompose it seems like they attract a lot of bugs.
