So let's say I have a Mac computer store with multiple high end machines (10-12) would it be possible to run all of the process in the background of them? My main concern is clients coming to see these machines, I don't want them slowing down. If someone could give me some guidance that would be great!

192 days later and I am in the Top 5. The only other active folder in the Top 5 is phrozendata who certainly has a nice lead with double my points but only a 3rd of my cpu count.

The new V7 client has been released with both SMP and GPU bundled into one client that also functions as stats keeper like HFM.net and FahMon.

Here's a good guide to get started on V7 folding: Overclock.net V7 Folding Guide

I am using Windows XP home edition.
I just tried using FAH Tracker V2 and it didn't work. It made me extract the file after it downloaded... and then when i tried to open up the extracted file i got an Application Error it says
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application."
And the only button there is to press is OK and the X in the top right corner of the error message.
I am using Windows XP home edition and have only done this before on my other lap top which has a virus and can't acess the internet. What is the best thing for me to use to fold with Windows XP Home Edition.
My computer i'm running on right now is a... Dell Dimension 2400 with an intel inside Pentium 4.
If anyone could nudge me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate it, i'm not very computer savy so work with me a little bit.
Thanks digital family!!!

Anyone having problems with this recently? Ran fine for months and within the last week starting causing windows to crash. Got the newer version last night hoping it would fix it but no luck.
Running the SMP version.

I'm back to folding after a 5-week hiatus.
I just downloaded the V7 version after already having the original version running with 22% done on the first fold... But in the v7 version it says 0% completed...
Can someone help me transfer my progress from the original to the v7 version?
EDIT: now i have both the original F@H (22%) and the V7 (0%) versions running at the same time...

So I just installed F@H.
Should I change anything here?

I know NOTHING about this program.
Is there anything else I should install?

Have been folding for awhile using the older versions and just recently had an issue where it wasn't getting new work packets so i got the new v7 client.
I have to say i really like the layout and like how you can see everything thats going on with multi cores and it just makes everything a lot easier to work with. If you dont have this one I recommend it
Keep on folding

Hi, after a distributed computing hiatus (used to use boinc) I've started up again as my PS3 does it, so linked that to the shroomery.
As my PS3 name is infowars.com I've made that my name on folding@home. I downloaded the windows client but can only get it to run under one core.
I have five others, as well as an AMD 4xxx something, how do I make it run on the other cores and gpu?
Edit: I downloaded the v7 beta client, it tells me it has one thread running on the six cores, and another thread running on the GPU (AMD6700). 3 hours for the CPU one, 7 for the GPU.
I won't be contributing much, I don't leave computers running all the time, can't afford it+noise, but you're welcome to my data.
