An old request
    #6655101 - 03/10/07 09:44 AM (6 years, 2 months ago)

So about 3 weeks ago i requested a Id, and due to my New zooming skills with my camera, the photos werent that great.
But ive reduced a large amount of the photos, and will ask that experienced Identifiers check it out, So far ive had no positive id on these things.

With the below pic, the brown Tip on the cap, was actually inverted.

An interesting fact, is it was very dry, and cold. in the 60s to 50s.
Good luck, this has been Bugging me, i had it in my hands months ago and dont know what it was!
Some more,

NOW, in 1 photo you see red pins on the patty unpicked, this is it once picked ,

Come on man...

You know the info required for ID requests.
But even so, why the heck are you reposting the same photos, with the same information, asking the same people for an identification?

Maybe some sort of Panaeolus, but that is as much as i can say.

Dear Curecat, ohh ya man, i know the required Identification, whitch is why in post 2 i Promptly said,
(No bluing When pinched, it went blaciss, as seen in photo.,
But im wondering if cold weather bruised it very blue, as seen on the stems?

Smelled like cubies, altho thats a smell im starting to forget
Any clues, thanks.)
As for repeating it, Before you were confused by my lack of a gill photo, Well i reduced a gill shot, and its there now,
As well ive edited the photos with enhancements.

So youre pointing me in the direction Of panaeolus, Thank you.
Any more spacific pointers?, Notice the coloring on the stem?
Also Curecat, my Fascination With having This Mushroom identified, also is Founded by the fact when i took it home and made a noob tek from it, It was cubensis, im 90% shure Its that PAttie in that photo that made it into my noob tek jar.

Thanks, ANd it isnt like im just posting to piss people off, its just that im more organised With posting skills before, and have worked hard to clarify everything, I was hoping That would bring more Thout to help me.
Again, thanks!

Yes, this thread is much more organized than the last. I commend you on that. Unfortunately, I have no more clue to the identification now, than i did from the first thread. Also:

I don't understand that sentence, could you please clarify?

When i say i THink it was cubensis, I mean I Used that pattie, or the 1 right next to it. and shure, that gives me 0 Reason to assume theyre cubies.
Yet again some facts, It was very cold and dry at the time.
Notice they actually are growing from inside and under the poo.
Also, The stems felt kind of fleshy, and werent stringy at all when torn.
Is there an off chance that cubies can go vielless after cold weather? Sorry if it sounds Stupid, But fucking a... Im getting better,....

Well, I can tell you one thing with certainty: Those mushrooms pictured are not Psilocybe cubensis, not even a chance.

Shure, ill clarify, sorry my computers slow and Im a meatwad.
How you doing by the way, havnt talked in a while
Okay, if you see the link in my sig to my home tek i use during mushroom season for a few years as a 0 experience grower, Ill show you the most recent photo

Clarified, The myc From the pattie With the unidintified mushrooms, I am almost shure, WHen taken home, and fruited, as shown above was cubensis!, I stated the temps were like 50 or 60, it was cold.
The 10% not shure comes when i think... Well all cow terds look alike, maybe i took the 1 next to them,
But anyhow, thanks for keeping touch even in an old request

I see. Let me explain- Two species of different mushrooms can colonize one cow pattie, in fact, many different species may grow from one pattie. The mycellium of Ps. cubensis (which is indeed, shown in the photo above) is white, as is most mushroom mycelium. If those unidentified mushrooms and the Ps. cubensis pin grew from the same pattie, then both mushrooms colonized the substrate. They are not the same mushroom, they are just sharing a home.
Hope that helps clear things up a bit.

This is the unidentified mushroom:

This is a Psilocybe cubensis pin (it is not the same mushroom as the ones pictured above):

...Huh?

Those unidentified mushrooms might be a Panaeolus species, but the colour of the caps and inverted nipple of some, make me think otherwise.
