 firefox downloading html files

about 1 out of every 10 times I click on any forum, even if the file has already downloaded and I haven't deleted it
my history is set to 0, private data is cleared every time firefox is closed, and cookies are only valid as long as firefox is open.
It's done this in the past, but over the last two days it has been doing to an extreme level

it hasn't done it at all since I've been online this morning, and I've changed none of my settings
