Is kratom's potency affected by food?
    #6539492 - 02/07/07 09:56 AM (7 years, 2 months ago)

Last night I had a standard dose of kratom, while I ate alot of food. I did not feel the effects of kratom whatsoever.

Is kratom more potent on an empty stomach? I thought the only bonus that gave you was avoiding nausea.

What's your idea of a standard dose?

Personally, kratom has never bothered me unless I tried drinking any alcohol with it. My wife is a bit more sensitive and she swears that having a full stomach will DECREASE any nausea she may have.

As far as efficiency of the tom on a full stomach goes, I really can't comment because I eat constantly and never bother to "fast" before sipping the tea.

My standard does is 3-5 grams of tea. Last night I drank that and I felt nothing, not stimulation or relaxation. Would alcohol increase the effects, or change them?

I dunno, like I said; the only time kratom makes me feel sick is in combination with alcohol and I have a pretty strong gut. For me the only "change" is vomit.

Personally, I don't think I would ever feel anything from 3-5g. I use at least 15g "premium commercial" grade. My plants are unfortunately even weaker and I'd have to use 20g to get the same effect.

conclusion: take more

Yes absolutely. 3-5 grams will get you a buzz similar to a cup of coffee. If that. 14grams is a standard dose in my opinion, and thats when the real magic starts happening.
