Grifola frondosa is fruiting?!! (with pics)

I had 3 colonized jars of G.frondosa on rye, a present of Owl, that i spawned into oak pasteurized sawdust. Colonized in 14-15 days at room temp(19°C about)..cold shocked for 7 days..put to fruit(misted couple a day and also with ultrasonic humidifier, left opened a bit of the zip of the green house for a better gar exchange)..and doesn't want to fruit!
I've never cultivated G.frondosa and hadn't time to read the chapter about it (if there is one) on Stamtes...so when i saw the block after different days i've seen this strange brownish/dark redish "thing"?
The surface really stinks but when i scratch a bit the block there's the sweet smell of mycelium. It's "colonizing" the block from the bottom (originally) to the top.
The surface has got points of strange secretions too.
Here some pics of monday:
Suggestions?

Here the pics of the day after..around 90% humidity, 22-23°C, normal bulb lamp turned on different hours during the day and..
it seems to fruiting from the "spots" of yesterday!
The strange thing, as you see, there are a lot of drops over this primordia(?)..i've thought they were water but..it was like a secretion!
I blowed a bit over and this drops/bubble of secretions had broken..if you see in the detailed picture they create a lot of little "pits" over the surface of the mycelium.
Anyone can explain me what's happening?
In normal the dark redish colour of the mycelium? are normale this secretions?
Thank you all, Fabio (is happy when the blocks fruit!)

Hola Amigo I worked like a slave so I don't have much time. Amigo your block seems to small. Maitake fruit better on bigger blocks (at least 6 Pds for very good flush). If it wants to fruit, you'll see first a little dark grey spot on the block. Soon becoming bigger. Maitake is not an easy one. Good luck Friend

Hola Compay, do not worry After tomorrow i'll upload, perhaps, new pics of the block..the gray spot there were originally and the block stinked!! Then the gray spots became as you see in the first pics (dark redish), then appeared new white spots over this surface and then "something" with orange bubbles/droplets that now is growing (really slow)

Very nice...
Maitake is one of the more difficult species to fruit. Keep us updated.

Mine did the same thing. I had them in a bin with an ultrasonic fogger for a long time, saw some growth like yours, then the white sclerotia (or whatever it is) turned dark brown.
I've now moved them to an humid bin with lower temperatures, but don't see any growth yet. Maybe I need to really cold shock or something. I've ordered Stamets book that covers Maitake and hopefully it has some helpful information.
I'll edit this and add some pics when I get home.

I know it looks like green/gray mold on pic #1 and #4, but it isn't mold. The dark brown parts have just turned gray.

Werd to the wise. In the wild Maitake pins abort after moderate rain. Maybe a casing of somesort with moisture will help move things along?

Thanks!
BTW, you probably can't tell size of the blocks from the pictures. They were made from 1 gal ziplock bags. The substrate is pine blend pellets + WBS.
Do you think these pins are aborted? I haven't seen any growth for 4 to 6 weeks. LOL I guess that's a stupid question
They stalled while in open, humid air in a warm 75F to 80F room. A couple weeks ago I put them in the container pictured, placed them in 50F for about a week, now they are in 59F to 64F with natural indirect light. Is patience the best course here?

Wait a minute... maitake sometimes fruits from underground, feeding on the roots, doesn't it? Maybe the tray/casing method would be better than blocks for maitake. Anyone tried that?

Hi pokermush: i've seen the micololo2 blocks and they doesn't appear like your and mines.
I've read that Grifola frondosa needs a long cold shock (i've let my block around 7-10 days in the fridge), thank nothing. Transferred in a small tube and increased temperature (21°C) and air exchange (left a bit open the lid of the tub 24/24 plus turned on the air pump a bit) the primordia started to grow.
shirley knott: Unlucky in these days i haven't access to my block..i haven't news of it from 23rd of December, i hope it feels good :P I'm afraid the water in the ultrasonic humidifier is finished :S, fortunately there's a quite good air exchange (i left quite half part of the zip of the mini green house opened)

^Hope that it is doing well, I have fruited Grifola frondosa before and it looked nothing like any of the pics so far. I only had 2 blocks out of 12 fruit, the rest became smelly and contaminated. And pokermush, that definitely does look like mold on the last pic, it's green! Is it somehting with the colors/my monitor? Those pins are nice too, but I believe they have aborted, have they not?

A few quick notes, from my previous notebook (I recommend everyone serious about growing keep one!), I believe 52F-62F to be the best fruiting temps. Temps must be constant with little fluctuation, and RH should be fairly low during fruitbody development. Polypores generally require less RH, and this is no exception. I found 70%-80% RH to be the best for fruitbody development once primordia have formed and begun maturing. Also, it looks as though you completely removed the bag from your blocks, which I wouldn't do with Maitake. Too much moisture is lost and aborts will be prevelant. Good luck!
