Maybe I'm just having difficulty in effectively navigating the new search interface. I click to restrict by user, and I put their name in there. I put it to search for Main Posts, instead of "All Posts", and do not put any terms to search for. Then the search results come in and every single post that user has made, main post or simply a reply to someone else's main post, pop up.
Am I misunderstanding something here, or is this legit?

There isn't any 'search by user' option in the new search. If you enter a username with no search terms, it just forwards you to the user's complete post list. I'll work on re-adding this functionality.
