Yeah nothing else is quite the same.
I joined some other shitty forum while this was down and was quickly reminded of why I only post here. It had plenty of replies and was fast moving/bigger than this, but it was the replies themselves which make the place sucky.

I haven't posted really (like, at all), but I missed having the opportunity to browse the forums. I could probably spend months reading the archives, yet I wasn't able to read anything when it was "down." Oh well, I'm glad that you are back, shroomery.org.

There shouldn't have been any data loss, but if you're missing a PM it could have been in memory when the server died and hadn't been flushed to disk yet. I didn't think mySQL worked that way, but it's the only explanation I can think of - the hardware problem was unrelated. I apologize for any missing data though. 
blink it's really funny you say that... in the context of a thread about negative posts on another site, I wrote this in the admin forum on 11/16:
