i went back to check my spots again today (how predictable am i) i was a bit worried when fields #1, #2 & #3 only produced these few shrooms!
thank god field #4 was better or it wouldnt have been worth going! found a few deformed ones...
and a few nicer lookin ones...
so they are still growing, just few and far between. i guess it took about 2 hours to find this lot.
i did go back to the stone circle to take some more pics today, will post them later... heres one of me sat on a stone contemplating life
then on my way home there was a bad road accident, one dude died, i guess this copter was picking up one of the survivors and takin them to hospital... there were cops all over the place!

That is propably the panaeolus sphinctrinus for example. Does it grow in dung? They also contain psilocybin. Be careful, but a lot of the panaeolus famely members are more or less potent. We are talking a hundred shrooms, not like fifty caps. But with some beer and weed, it will give you a confident and plesent happy and feelgood mood. Guarandeed

Pan. sphinctrinus is not an active species. this is subject to much debate but it's pretty much the same situation as Psilocybe coprophila. i don't know how many people gave gorged themselves on these little things for nothing more than stomach upset.

Nice pics of the stone circle
I've got a book called 'Rock Around The Peak' by Victoria & Paul Morgan and have often picked Libs in and around stone circles, can't say I remember going to that one though...
Ever hear of Ley Lines? I was handed some divining rods when I was 12 years old at a famous stone circle. I was totally skeptical to begin with but then I was like, holy shit, this stuff actually works!!!

yeah i wish i could find myself some shrooms within a circle! the ground is good round that place, might disperse a few spores there
that book sounds interesting, should get myself a copy of that. i dont think many people know about hordrons edge, which is good and bad. good cos it has been totally deserted every time i have been there, so i got the place to myself. bad cos its basically been forgotton about.
its not on any map that i have seen, no sign posts to it, no paths. and considering its in a relatively good state of preservation (compared to some) it should be seen, and looked after. u have to park up at the side of the A57 and climb up a really steep hill, then hike across the moor and hopefully u see it, its not very obvious until your right on top of it.
ley lines i know a bit about... but i havent tried devining rods, might have to give that a go. i'll definately be goin back up there anyway cos i wanna go and see arbor low and the nine ladies

i havent been out lib hunting for a week cos it seemed that the season was gone... so i didnt expect to find much today but surprisingly the libs have made a come back after a cold spell, its a bit milder now
heres the pics from today, some nice specimens
blueing mycelium.
todays haul, not bad for a couple of hours.
i found one interesting specimen today. seemed to have a partial veil, which isnt something ive seen often. extremely conic also. the veil had more strands before it spent 3 hours in my picking bag! i thought perhaps it could be p.strictipes.
lib row.
oh and i wanted to take the farmer a present to say thanks for lettin me pick in his fields
xmas cheer & a bag of shrooms!
instructions.
i wonder if he will try them!?!?!

Great post and brilliant pics! I also like your gift for the farmer very much! With you, I wonder if he'll try them. Perhaps he knows people who are into shrooms and he digs them. Or perhaps he's just very tolerant and he'll donate them to a nephew for his 12th birthday
Again, great post, enjoyed it!

Thanks for the photos!
About the instruction, don´t you think 3 minutes in the water is to little? I would say 20-30 is much better.

hehe a bit longer would be better yes, say 5-10 mins in tea. but i dont want to fuck his head up (too much) hopefully he will drink the tea and the mushrooms and all...
20-30 mins is too long, depending on how hot the water is of course. tea would be cold by then surely?
i usually boil my libs up with water in a pan for maximum 5 mins. then make tea with that water.

No. It's not to long to get the most out. But I think we are speaking of different methods. If you're drinking the mushrooms with the tea, then time doesn't matter.
But that's not the point of making tea, is it? I was thinking more about a water extraction where the shrooms are filtered out and discarded.
I have tested different cooking times a lot, and 10 minutes in not enough to get all alkaloids out from the shrooms. 20-30, is better. The destruction of psilocybin by cooking is not something to worry about, I haven't noticed that even when cooking it for over an hour several times with no noticeable loss (was cooking down tea to get a black resin to put in gel caps). I guess it takes higher temperatures or longer time to break down psilocybin.
In my more recent water extractions I cook the shrooms 2x20m and change the water to get everything out, then combining and cooking down to become just a few sips. I don't like the taste of shrooms.

I love eating fresh "Semis" while I hunt, but most of my friends have incredible difficulty ingesting them!... because of this I've eaten them in countless different ways including in Tea, Tomatoe Soup on Subs & Pizza etc.... the best method for them seems to be busting them up in a coffee grinder & adding them to orange juice which they then down quickly!... Maybe it's because they are broken up or something but they seem to hit quickly without the sometimes anxious build!.... I still prefer them fresh in the feild as I tend to get a more powerful experience... but thats just me... Anyway you do them be sure to be safe and most of all know what you are eating and your tolerance!... Good luck hunting!

Why not start a new "Official Canada Psilocybe semilanceata Season 2009" thread instead of resurrecting an almost three year old thread?
