I loved Another Roadside Attraction. His style took a bit of getting used to, but the book is extremely entertaining and I couldn't wait to read what wacky ideas he'd come up with next.

Thats one of his few i havent read. Robbins is brilliant and truly one of a kind. The way he uses language, his content, and the way he beautifully brings so many different elements and ideas together is remarkable.
My favorite Robbins novels would have to be Jitterbug Perfume and Villa Incognito. Hands down two of my favorite novels. Completely original. I couldnt begin tobriefly tell ya what theyre about.
Definitely check those out, you wont regret it.

Because The Dice Man is a great read, quite disturbing once you realise that you're in a similar situation to the protagonist and could conceivably do something as crazy as the book's premise, i.e. base all your decisions on the roll of a die.

I was on a Tom Robbins binge earlier this year. I read Villa Incognito, Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates, and am currently working on Skinny Legs and All.
I've also read Another Roadside Attraction, Jitterbug Perfume, and Even Cowgirls get the Blues.
Fierce Invalids was my favorite by far. Robbins really is a master of writing; it doesn't really matter what he's describing because he does it so creatively. He uses words the way Alex Grey uses colors.

I got a free copy of the Hunger Games for my Kindle so I'm reading it. It's pretty good, definitely keeps me reading. It's like a vacation for my brain considering all the heavier non fiction I've been barreling through.

No but they would be worth a read-never let the truth get in the way of a good story.
The Ice Man is graphic and worth a read

Definitely agree. It's nice to have some light reading now and again. A good read all around.
I'm about halfway through LOTR The Two Towers. It's a bit dry here and there, but thoroughly entertaining. So far the series isn't nearly good as I imagined, but I love whole paths, destiny, good vs evil themes. Good stuff

I wish English was my first language so I could enjoy good literature such as the book you're currently reading, without any cognitive obstacles. i wouldnt even think of getting it translated.

You seem to have a good level of English, just keep reading. I can read well in Spanish and decently in French and Italian, and the more you read, the more it becomes almost as natural as your native language.

Over the weekend I read a wonderful novella by G.K. Chesterton - The Man Who Was Thursday. From 1908, very reminiscent of Philip K. Dick in ways.

The Eerie Silence : Renewing Our Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence by Paul Davies.
Whole-heartedly recommended.
Great read.

Re-reading (again) Entheologues by Martin Ball.
By the way, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to anyone interested in entheogens in any way. Discusses basically the whole spectrum of known major entheogens with leaders in their study. Some really great stuff here. And I came across SEVERAL other really good books via the conversations and books the interviewees authored.
Just had to say

Alternating between Catching Fire (the 2nd book in the Hunger Games, excellent before-bed brain vacation reading) and Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.

First Hunger Games book = Pretty Good.
Second Hunger Games book = Pretty Bad.
Third Hunger Games book = Awful.
