I don't spend enough time in my car to warrant any type of "system".

I prefer the comfort of my home theatre:

The sound setup:
Kenwood VR 307 DD5.1 receiver (old school but I have little need for more then 500W of power)
Bose VC-10 center, 301 Series IV fronts, Dual Cube Rears
Cerwin Vega LW15 15" sub (300W)

The video setup:
Akai PDP 5025M 50" Plasma
Samsung DVD HD 850 upconverting DVD player
SA 8300HD STB

Just upgraded to this headunit. It has a USB hookup and can pull files off my iRiver.

That's a sweet looking remote. I love having the remote on mine. It's pretty much always in my hand when I'm driving.

3600w. Jesus. Is that to power all the speakers, or just the subs?

What I'd do with that amp is hook that up to 2xJL 13W7's and see if you can blow your windows out or pop the trunk off

Anyone see the Mythbusters where they tried to blow up the car with the subwoofer?

That's odd. Sounds like a wiring issue. I don't know enough about it to tell you exactly what's wrong, but it sounds like the amp is either drawing too much power or not getting enough when the car is turned on. That's bootleg.

Maybe someone here can better help you. Hopefuly it can be fixed by adjusting amp settings, and not having to run new wires.

just the subs...

W7's are 6 a peice and the W6v2's were half that and have very good quality... the bass is so clean and crisp you dont even need to turn it up that loud...

I believe W7s were made for people who compete in SPL competitions. They're just loud as fuck.

I'm much more of a fan of SQ than SPL, thats why I went with the Infinitys. The part of me that is into SPL is why I'm over powering the subs by 250w

I was in highschool when I was into car audio big time. A friend of mine had 2x10" W7s powered by a 2000w amp. His 2 10s were louder than anyone's system in the parking lot, including this guy who shelled out $3,000+ for his Audiobahn competition 12s. The guy that had the Audiobahn's wasn't happy about it :P
