I saw Phish in Austin back in 98. Bought some shrooms before the show. Mike was wearing a white shirt and white jeans, he stepped forward to take a bass solo and they shone a white light on him. This girl had to tell me to quit singing along with the band.

Big Summer Classic 2005
I took 3 hits of blotter
I watched String Cheese Incident, Umphrey's Mcgee, Spearhead, Keller Williams, Yonder Mountain String Band and some other bands I don't remember ATM.
The lights were dancing and I was just sitting there in awe. This was my first concert as well.

Schwip you're so LUCKY!!!!!!!!!! I've been DYING to see Tool live!!!!
My best experience was: OZZFEST 2006 1 Philly mini banana blunt (snuk in under a black woman's wig) 4 med-sized cube caps 1 hit of acid 1 40mg OxiContin (insufflated [that means it went up my nose])
The wall of death during 'All that Remains' was scary as hell at the moment but once it passed I calmed down and got out of the pit and to the sidelines to watch the rest of the 2nd stage bands
The mushrooms and acid were timed to kick in as A7X started. That way I'd be trippin balls for Disturbed and SYSTEM OF A MUTHERFUCKIN DOWN!!! The oxy was snorted in the morning be4 the show. the blunt was smoked after the wall of death. as stated the psychedelics were saved for main stage's 3 best bands.
I cant wait 4 ozzfest 2007!!!!! I wanna bring an OZ of azures or weilii or both!

March 1973. Toronto, Maple Leaf Gardens. Pink Floyd. They played some songs off of their soon to be released album called "Dark Side of the Moon" I remember thinking " I gotta get this album when it comes out".
The real early purple microdots when they were quality and strong, unlike the later one which were not.
David Gilmour's screaming solo on "Echoes"

im sorry i cant picture tripping at ozzfest, i just cant.
and how do u plan on getting both azures and weilii which grow on complete opposite sides of the US?
anyways...
i saw a band called "Forever Changing" on mushrooms, it was the most amazing music/psychedelics experience of my life the guy had a guitar labeled "frankenstein" and it had a hinge on it so he would bend it and stretch the strings raising the tune. he had fun with this and his wah and i got lost with every song.
i also saw a dead milkman cover band while drunk off pineapple mead, stoned on "purple urkle" and on an 8th of cyanofibrillosa's, the whole event and party favors were free, it was great but nothing like Forever Changing

The Flaming Lips It was the second to last gig on the 2006 tour. It happened to be the only one where they handed out laser pointers.
I wasn't on anything, but if you've been to any of their concerts, you don't need it. Without a doubt the greatest experience of my life.

In other words a kind of cultural brainwashing is necessary for modern cultures to work at all.

Tool (10,000 Days tour)
Saw them twice this tour. First time sober and the second time me and a friend smoked a bigass joint before they went on. Good times . Too bad I didn't smoke on the first one cause they played Right in Two there, but it was still trippy.

suprisingly, I havent enjoyed tripping or rolling at concert environments...in fact I've mostly been bugged out by all the people.
My favorite concert experiences I've had some good stiff drinks, and did a lot of smokin...the last one being Keller. Douchebags were abound, but a few drinks and a couple hits and I forgot all about them.

Sorry, but I have a little trouble recalling the name of the band. It wasn't just the shrooms as you have to realize:
I was really very drunk at the time.
One lady even went as far as to say:
I was cruisin' for a bruisin'.
I know this, indeed, was not the case because:
I certainly was in the right!

"Nothingface" at the Midway Cafe on Pulaski Highway in Baltimore, MD during their "Hate You World Tour 1994"
Drug of choice was puh-lenty of hard hitting ALCOHOL.
Everyone moshed hot and heavy and when someone went down, everyone stopped and picked him up.
Good people, everyone there that night. I still have the t-shirt.

i guess i havent really taken many drugs besides MDMA at shows. alomost all the great nights i can think of i was just drunk as hell.
i remember taking 2 really good pills at a Deepsky live performance. the pills hit me right as a really good song was bulding up and when the kick came back it was like an explosion of euphoria. that set was amazing.
i recently did some H when i went to see switch. that was a good time, LOL.

Funny shit, I saw them on LSD+MDMA(and ketamine offcourse) this weekend!
I also saw Venetian Snares that night. Man, they got me TRIPPING. I couldn't hear the full set, had to leave after a while because it got too intense. The music just pulled me trough myself and then back trough another hole, I know this description doesn't make sense but at the time nothing made sense

He played a ton of unkle stuff, lots of his own stuff, lots of trip hop, then had Lateef the Truth Speaker come out halfway through to pump up the audience. The music was stunning, I felt like the show was so simple yet the visuals on one screen along with a few lights made me feel like I was riding a 3d simulation ride because of all of the attention to detail put into the VJing blended perfectly with top notch music.
On top of that, had a few weird things happen in the middle of the show - including a girl that I really liked pop in and find me in the crowd in the middle of the show and magically disappear. Just made for a really special night.

Hallucinogen (In Dub) - Live Band At Camp Bisco 2007 in Mariaville, NY.
5 hits lsd, 4 grams mushrooms, and a bunch of headies.
About an hour into the set, the sun started going down. Once the sun went down, huge storm clouds moved in and it was one of the nastiest rain storms I've ever been in. The wind was blowing so hard, and it was seriously pouring rain. Everyone was completely soaked but everyone was pretty much glued in place til the set ended. Got back to the tent, and the wind blew so hard it actually managed to pull some stakes out of the ground and our tent was leveled. But I didn't care at all. My one buddy's tent completely blew away.

well, the best thing i have experienced was seeing tomahawk and tool together, as mike patton is a god to me and tool is my favorite band.
as far as with drugs... at ozzfest 99 i was on some coke, some meth, about 5 purple gel tabs, and when i got to the show i remember walking to the second stage and seeing a band i had never heard of before, it was slipknot. say what you will about them, but i am a drummer and love heavy music, and with the trippin and the speedin and such, i was confused as to what the hell was happening. all i knew was that these orange jumpsuit demons were playing the heaviest shit i had ever heard. i love death metal, but the way they construct their rhythms did something to my brain that day. joey jordasen is a badass.

I don't know if I answered this already, but I'm not scrolling through these threads to find out. I went to my first Tool concert high off 2c-I and that was pretty damn intense. Especially when they did their awesome lighting effects, I was peaking then and the whole auditorium was just tripping me out and I swear everyone was floating around along with the music of Wing for Marie.
Intense

-Joe Satriani '08 -2 tabs of LSD, Words cannot express how great it was, i had been hanging out to see him too.
-Rage Against The Machine '08 -2 MD bickies and lots of alcohol, Kick ass concert, great to see em back together.
-Iron Maiden, somewhere back in time tour '08 -2 tabs of LSD and plenty of beer, A great light spectacular experience.
-Cannibal Corpse '06 -Approx 3 grams of shrooms, It was something else, though the environment made it so good.
-Cypress Hill '03 + '04, LOTS of good weed, and also plenty of beer, Both GREAT concerts, always a pleasure to see Cypress (Sen Dog beat up a security gaurd at the '03 gig, was sooo dam funny )
Those are my all time favorite gigs with pleasurable drug experiences that made them a whole lot better:D

Battles (and also Vampire Weekend) at Bonnaroo this year, on LSD. It was my first time at Bonnaroo (or any other festival), first time hearing Battles, and first time dropping acid. I'd been wanting to try acid for a while, and I had the luck to bump into a guy with some really excellent liquid.
I ended up taking three hits just in time for the show. Knowing nothing about Battles, I could never have guessed what I was in for. It was by far the most intense experience I've ever had, at once unbearably terrifying and sublime beyond words. Battles' music is so loopy and mathematical, like some kind of auditory fractal, it's almost as if it's designed specifically to utterly mindfuck anyone who happens to be on acid. The show felt like it lasted about five times as long as it actually did, and afterward I quickly lost track of my friend in the crowd and collapsed on the grass.
I don't remember anything for a little while after that, but the first thing I do remember is that the next show, Vampire Weekend, had started. Their music is almost the polar opposite of Battles. It's kind of instrumental and upbeat, with an African vibe. It seemed like the most wonderful sound I'd ever heard in my life.
Unfortunately, I no longer had any real memory of the rest of my life, or what precisely was going on. I remembered that I'd traveled quite a way to this large event called Bonnaroo, but I was suddenly feeling quite confused about the nature of this event. I spent most of the rest of the night cycling through all kinds of mad theories about what was going on. I was convinced for a while that Bonnaroo was some kind of cult, and that I had eaten not acid but some esoteric drug intended to brainwash me so that I could be easily assimilated. I couldn't decide whether this was a good or bad thing. Then I started thinking that perhaps I had died and gone to the afterlife--but was I in Heaven or Hell? It was oddly difficult to tell. I don't normally believe in any sort of afterlife, but at the time it seemed entirely plausible since I (thought) I was experiencing it firsthand. I eventually settled on the idea that Bonnaroo was a massive party for psychedelic drug users and other counterculture elements, disguised as a simple music show, which funnily enough isn't far from the truth.
I had a vague feeling I should go to my tent and work all this out in peace, but finding my way back proved to be an almost insurmountable obstacle. I wandered around the entire, massive campsite for about three hours trying to get my bearings, and every time I thought I must be close to my section, number 9, I wound up in a section marked "g", which I figured must be a VIP area. The acid visuals made finding my way quite difficult, because the numbers and symbols I saw on the marker balloons were almost entirely untrustworthy. Finally, a nice girl at the volunteer booth gave me directions to campsite 9. I'm saved!, I thought, but I arrived at my destination only to be confronted once more with that infuriating "g." Nearly ready to give up and sleep on the ground somewhere, I suddenly realized that the cursed "g" was actually a 9 after all, painted with an unusually curly tail for some ridiculous reason.
By this time I was mostly back in the real world, and I went into my tent and did my best to get some sleep.
That was quite a night.

I think people gather to Bonnaroo and other festivals for the music. The doses, molly, rolls among other things are just the party favors.
That sounds like a pretty intense time, tripping out hardcore around 100,000 people.
I tripped at rothbury, and I couldn't think of a better place to have a good trip.

Oh, I definitely agree that music is the main attraction, but it seems like drugs do play an important role. It's great being in an environment where people can be relatively open about it, and I'm not sure if it's even possible to find such good acid where I live. I'd guess you can if you know the right people, but at Bonnaroo it comes wandering past your tent advertising itself. That's reason enough to go in my book.

The best in recent memory was moe.down 2009. On the way in, some dude in the parking lot gave me about 15 hits of L. When it started to hit me, I dragged a friend back to the lot so I wasn't tripping alone. We found the guy sitting on the ground, leaning against a car, melting into the tire.

New Riders of Purple Sage around four years ago. Rainbow gel tabs and right after experiencing ego death for the first time. I fought it real hard and was remembering past lives all this stuff but shortly after I embraced it and fell to the grass. Some "security" dude let me up to the stage from behind, it was a small festival. I didn't even know who Donna Jean was and I was dancing about five feet from her for hours one night. I guess the band had seen me acting nuts all weekend or something. I guess I wasn't acting nuts' more like a little kid that had been dead for a decade. Open to everything and nice to everyone but slightly annoying maybe lol. My friend accused me of running on stage, but I honestly was laying on the grass tripping balls when this "security" guy grabbed my arm pulled me up and led me to the stage from behind. And then they handed me the drum sticks and the seat was open. When the band started playing the next song. I started to play the drums and was pulled off by same security dude who then winked at me as he pulled me off and the drummer returned. After that I was on a whole other level for awhile lol. I honestly thought the world was ending that night and the dead and living would be reconnected for eternity, It was my first festival and the best one I ever went to. I remember this vendor had given me grateful dead pilot wings for free one day, and that night I was at his stand and he gave me a crystal to see and it looked and felt so nice I started licking it.One guy I was chillen with a lot, I believe said I had a big surprise at the end of the weekend, maybe he was involved? Good times.

I dropped 20mg of 2-cb before a Nine Inch Nails last ever London gig.
We were seating which at first I thought was going to make it rubbish. They are my favourite band and I was real excited so a little gutted to be sitting. Luckily the people sitting next to us moved because the chap in front of them who was supposed to be sitting kept jumping around. Eventually he moved away so the seats in front and next to us were all free. Totally stretched out and relaxed, tripping hard to the best band ever who were playing just for me. Never heard their music sound so perfect... And it's already pretty perfect
Am kinda glad I was seating now... Wish I hadn't drank so many ciders though =\
Great night

I saw bob dylan on 2.5 hits of LSD. It was awesome. I experienced ego death and had all kinds of cool insights about music and had some gnarly visuals. Bob Dylan sounded like the devil and his band was playing for their lives.

My most fondest concert experience was seeing Tool's 10,000 days tour at a festival. I've been to many concerts but the Tool experience is made for tripping. They deck out the stage with many of Alex Grey's works and the stage itself becomes part of the show. They had great visuals playing on a huge screen that synched up with the music they were playing.
Earlier in that day I had eaten two decently potent pot cookies for breakfeast and was sipping on a few beers throughout the day until I dosed on an unknown amount of 2c-i before it got dark. I would estimate it to be >30mgs about an hour and half before tool was to go on. Had an amazing time, smoked 2 blunts which just kept getting me higher and higher.
More recently I enjoy taking some molly or some sass a half hour before the band goes on. Tripping during a concert is dope no doubt but sometimes the bodyload is too much and I just want to lay down and chill. With molly I could just keep dancing while still having that awesome euphoria and increased music appreciation that comes along with psychedelics, plus I can still function socially quite well i might add whereas with a good dose of shrooms, lsd, 2c's I find it tough to have a fluid conversation as I get flooded with internal dialogue and get a little loopy!
Anyways drugs like mdma, weed, shrooms and lsd are made for music and there is no greater pleasure than the synergy with some good tunes and these drugs!

A Minus the Bear concert was at a theater near my hometown so me and a friend decided to go.
We had numerous joints pre-rolled for the concert, and we shared one behind the building before waltzing into the theater absolutely blitzed.
We lit up when the main band came on and shared a joint with a security guard who was standing about 5 feet from us. The weed made the concert a thousand times better, as I could feel the music for some reason.
Not a single fuck was given that day.
-------------------- “If we could sniff or swallow something that would, for five or six hours each day, abolish our solitude as individuals, atone us with our fellows in a glowing exaltation of affection and make life in all its aspects seem not only worth living, but divinely beautiful and significant, and if this heavenly, world-transfiguring drug were of such a kind that we could wake up next morning with a clear head and an undamaged constitution - then, it seems to me, all our problems (and not merely the one small problem of discovering a novel pleasure) would be wholly solved and earth would become paradise.” -Aldous Huxley
