im getting some opium this weekend i think.. know its real cuz the dude grows it, anyway im gonna try these dif. methods and report what the easiest to a O noob is. i heard that alot of it (active ingrediants) is water soluble... so you cant smoke it with a water pipe???

No, that'd be a horrible idea. It would melt or vaporize then dissolve into the water, not go into your lungs.

Yeah, I saw that it got bumped by people with the same questions. Sometimes it's cool to see older threads come back. The other one I saw was in the hunting forum.

Yes, you weren't missing much when it comes to the other forums. They were mostly slow and didnt get many posts. Or about boring subjects.

Just eat it, smoking opium is retarded. It hits you quicker, but its less efficient to smoke opium.

Get a curve if you have a glass on glass bong.
I'm getting one so I can smoke JWH, hash and DMT as well as BHO out of my tube or any GoNG bubbler I get.
A curve
Ypu purchase a titanium pad and use a bike spoke to wrap it around the curve in the neck. Some have a small marble so it secures around it. You heat up the titanium pad with a torch and if you're smoking BHO you get a dab, push the pad under the opening of the curve and and rip it until the smoke runs through.

Just eat it, smoking opium is retarded. It hits you quicker, but its less efficient to smoke opium.
Fun > Effeciency.
I usually extracted the raw opium and let it dry on a paper and smoked a small cigarette with it.
Or smoked it in a joint like hashish.
Or a pipe

SWIM recently got some opium and searched the net for a long time looking for a smoking method as he had no way of obtaining a real opium pipe. SWIM's method is a mix of different techniques found over the web. SWIM is quite sure that there is a simpler way, but this works.
Method for Smoking Opium
:Light Bulb Vaporizer
:Oil lamp, spirit lamp, zippo
:Method
the light bulb vaporizer consists of a standard size threaded filament light bulb where the bottom connector has been removed thus removing all the interior fixtures of the bulb (very small pliers and you can get everything out through a 1cm hole, then fill the bulb with half salt, half water and swirl until all the white powder is gone); and a two liter soda bottle cap with two holes punched in (hot nail works great) to insert drinking straws (the ones with a bend are better). Both straws protrude about 5 cm (2 in. give or take) inside the cap. One of the straws is cut about 5 cm above the cap. Hot glue or electrical tape is used to make the cap-straw joint airtight. Make sure the long straw is inserted bendy end first (for ease of smoking). By adding two or three layers of electrical tape on the light bulb's threads, the soda cap fits snugly.
In case you don''t have a zippo or an oil lamp, take a jam jar, pierce a 2mm hole (size of a small screwdriver) in the lid. Cut a 15cmx2cm strip from an all cotton cloth, roll one end tight and work it about 1 cm through the hole so the main part of cloth is inside the jar. Fill the jar about half way with fuel (aromatherapy oils, rubbing alcohol, w/e but don't use gas, it stinks).
screw the lid on tight, wipe all excess fuel and light your wick.
Roll a little ball of opium a little smaller than the inner diameter of your straw, shape it into a bullet shape and drop it through the short straw. (SWIM likes to add a little hash or weed at that point, but that's just silly really).
Holding it by the cap (the glass will get hot) with one finger on the short straw and the long straw in your mouth, hold the bulb about 1 cm over the top of the flame.
Wait.
After a few seconds, the opium stats to bubble, then smoke. When the bulb is opaque-ish with smoke, release short straw, take hit. Repeat.
A dose this size is good for 5 or 6 hits.
Warning, the ball will keep smoking after you remove the flame, try to recap the short straw after the hit.
To clean out the bulb, unscrew cap, fill with salt and water and swirl, air (or cotton) dry before putting cap back on. A wet pipe will crack over the heat.
EDIT : be careful with the lamp, the working principle is roughly the same as a molotov cocktail, oops
