God Loves You Scumbags

I was visiting my folks who live in an area where the churches outnumber the bars by 100 to 0 (it's a very religious dry county).
While out driving we noticed the new Atheist Station building which had made the local newspaper. The red spray painted welcome message across the front of their new building read "God Loves You Scumbags".
I was impressed that a neighbor would go out of their way and buy a can of red spray paint, jump the 6 foot chain link fence and spread the word of God to non-believers!

Sounds like Jehovah's Witnesses on steroids.

When you are serious about spreading the word of God, steroids are a minor sacrifice.

In the tradition of an eye for an eye the atheists could return the favor by spraypainting the local church with: "There's no such thing!"
Seriously, that's fucked up. But this isn't the place to discuss fucked up stuff (we got OTD for that) so I'm kinda wondering what spirituality and mysticism you want to share with this thread.
If it angered you, OTD If it saddened you, The Pub If you were overcome by it's philosophical implications, The Phil If it moved you spiritually, Spir & Myst

Well it moved me spiritually in the sense that it reinforced my spirituality of nature and individuality as opposed to God fearing organized religion with the resulting tendencies towards mob behavior.

I just want my brothers and sisters to support myh prayers and beliefs, and for me to support thiers...as long as its all with good intentions. I think the mind is so powerful, if we moved towards collective goodness, humans would be amazed.

What if your beliefs involve killing off people you don't agree with? Or cutting down all the trees in North America? Not everyone believes what you do. And how do you know what collective goodness is? I'm not saying you're wrong. But have you really put some thought into your post? In fact maybe you are just guessing what would happen based on your personal subjective belief system. Which is just fine, but.

God loves you scumbags?
Well the painter doesn't...
he should have said "God loves you even though you don't acknowladge His existence. And we love you too because our Savior commands it of us, but we morally abject to your establishment. -Sincerely, the Christians"
but I guess that would have been hard to spray paint.

On the way to work the other day I was passing a church. They had a huge sign out the front that read:
THE BIBLE! INSTRUCTION MANUAL FOR BEFORE LEAVING EARTH.
Must have caught me unawares, cause I exploded with a, "Pfffffffffft." Funny shit. I was going the feign ignorance and enter the church to ask how much it would be to purchase the instruction manual on how to leave earth.

God is not human and is therefore possibly incapable of human emotions (for example: love). Possibly. Also I'm no scumbag.......
